'A PR Stunt!': Tennis legend slams Donald Trump's bandage after assassination attempt
Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has never been a person to shy away from controversy or fireworks on or off the court in her life.
The outspoken tennis star gave her opinion on Donald Trump's ear bandaging after the former president survived an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania.
The tennis major champion replied to a post on X that read: "A good friend of mine is the charge nurse (Level IV FNP) at a major trauma center in a huge city. She says there's no need to dress an ear wound like this unless half his ear was blown off. And even then, it wouldn't look like this."

The 18-time Grand Slam champion controversially responded by saying: "Of course – this is obviously a PR stunt – the day after the shooting, he had no dressing on his ear... not even a band-Aid."
According to the Toronto Sun website, she added: "The day before, he wore nothing or a small bandaid no one could see while playing golf. My stance on any kind of violence and also guns is pretty clear and knows no favor. Thank you."
The former tennis star wasn't the only person suspicious of the white bandage on his ear, with claims that the bullet never touched the former president.
The TMZ report claimed that the blood on Trump's ear was a result of glass being destroyed from the teleprompter in the duration of the shooting, which killed one spectator.
Navratilova continued her assault on X saying: "Correction – there was an abominable assassination attempt, and the bullet grazed the prompter, and a shard from that hit Trump's ear."
According to the Daily Mail, the former president had a different account of the events, writing: "I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin."
Multiple attendees at the Republican National Convention were seen sporting the ear bandage in solidarity with the former president.
