Alexandra Ianculescu: the adult content athlete aiming for the Olympics

Alexandra Ianculescu moved to Toronto with her family in 2001. In Canada, she would make a name for herself as a speed skater, but later wanted to pursue a career in another sport. This is Ianculescu's story.

Ianculescu joined the Canadian junior national speed skating team in 2011 and represented Canada in two junior championships. She excelled in 500m and 1000m races but struggled to shine within the Canadian Olympic team.

In 2016, Alexandra was called up by the Romanian Olympic team to represent her country in long-track speed skating.

During the 2018 Winter Olympics, she competed in the women's 500m race but failed to achieve any silverware. She finished 31st in the 500m race.

After the 2018 Olympics, Ianculescu moved back to Europe, where she fell in love with cycling. Due to the lack of financial support, however, Alexandra Ianculescu joined an adult content subscription service as an alternate solution in order to keep financing her athletic dreams, per The Sun.

Alexandra Ianculescu took a different path, some may label it as unconventional, however, creating adult content was her best option to fund her appearance at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The 32-year-old athlete has been a sensation in the explicit content industry ever since she joined the platform back in 2021, amassing followers with her online profile named "speed_skater".

"I like to post my photos and videos, so I decided to do a test for a month and then decide...but I have to say that the results have been extraordinary. I kept getting a lot of likes in my bikini photos, so I agreed to do it," shared Ianculescu in an Instagram post.

Many have questioned her motives and even labeled her as an ex-athlete who commodifies her body.

Nevertheless, Alexandra has come out stating she made the account out of necessity, to pay rent, to survive, she still considers herself a professional athlete.
