Trouble in paradise: Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz may cut their Juventus stay short
Earlier this year, Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann, part of the Aston Villa men's and women's teams respectively, both moved to Juventus as a couple, now, just a few months into their Italian adventure, things aren't quite going to plan!
According to the Daily Wrap, neither Luiz nor Lehmann have been able to establish themselves in Juventus' teams, with Luiz looking like a potential transfer plot after Juve spent big money to bring him in from Villa.
The Daily Wrap has also reported Luiz and Lehmann were the victims of a home invasion, with thieves stealing €515,000 (£428,000/$555,000) worth of items. As it stands, things have not gone smoothly for football's most famous couple on their Italian adventure.

There are already rumours of Luiz potentially returning to Aston Villa on loan when the January transfer window opens, whether Lehmann would return with him is unknown.
According to Essentially Sports, Lehmann signed a three-year deal with the Bianconeri women’s team, keeping her at the club until at least 2027.
There will have been a transfer fee paid to Villa by Juventus to secure Lehmann’s signature, but BBC Sport has reported that number is so far undisclosed.
Per AiScore, Lehmann’s value was around £55,000 (€65,000/$70,000) before her transfer, which works as a rough estimate at what her fee would have been.
Essentially Sports have reported Lehmann was earning £156,000 (€184,000/$200,000) a year at Villa and would expect a salary raise as part of her transfer.
Whilst that sort of salary puts Lehmann in the upper echelon of earners, it is not her only source of income, with The Sun reporting she is worth £1.2 million (€1.42 million/$1.56 million) from brand deals and her large Instagram following.
Lehmann’s following online has generated a number of brand deals for the Swiss striker, as she has signed contracts with Adidas, EA Sports, and Boohoo.
A cynical person may suggest Juventus’ signing of Lehmann is as much about generating interest in the club as it is her on-pitch talent, with the striker only scoring 14 times in 74 games for Villa, per the team website.
Essentially Sports has reported Juventus women have signed a deal with TikTok to promote the team, and adding Lehmann’s 11 million followers on the platform certainly won’t hurt…
Lehmann moved to Italy alongside her boyfriend Douglas Luiz in what may be the first instance of a package deal involving both halves of a relationship, could Lehmann’s PR-driven move prove to be a template for others to follow? Or perhaps their experience could scare teams away from similar deals in the future!
