Bodybuilder Cíntia Goldani dies at 36: Controversy over the cause of her death

The athlete lost her life a few days after participating in one of the most relevant competitions on the circuit: 'MuscleContest Brazil'.

Her death was officially announced by MuscleContest, a pro fitness and bodybuilding company.

"With great pain and sadness, we hereby inform you of the death of Professional Figure Athlete Cintia Goldani due to complications from pneumonia. Cintia was an angel in human form. God needed reinforcement in heaven. She will never be forgotten by the MuscleContest family," the statement, shared on Instagram, read.

The bodybuilder from Rio was just 36 years old and had been competing as a professional since 2021, and had been building her name and profile on the circuit.

Although the official statement indicated complications from pneumonia as the cause of Goldani's death, it didn't take long for speculation to hit the social networks.

Some users have used their Instagram Stories or comments to suggest that an embolism – or something more suspicious – was the real cause of the bodybuilder's death.

Such has been the commotion caused on social networks that Gustavo César, Cíntia Goldani's partner and also a bodybuilder, has had to complement his farewell message to his partner with another that clarifies the causes of death.

"Septic shock, pulmonary sepsis and bacterial pneumonia were the starting causes of my love for God, not an unproven embolism, nor any of the bizarre things they say out there," he commented on Instagram Stories.
