According to Tennis 365, former world number four Greg Rusedski has warned tennis' young stars that Djokovic hasn't finished yet, despite the Serb's recent injury setbacks.

Knee injury

The tennis GOAT has slipped below Sinner and Alcaraz in the world rankings after pulling out of the French Open with a meniscus tear in his knee.

A doubt for Wimbledon and the Olympics

At the beginning of June, the ATP website reported that Djokovic had undergone a successful surgery on his knee, but he remains a major doubt for Wimbledon and the Olympics.

"Super hungry"

Speaking at a 'Pickleball Slam' event, Rusedski said: "A meniscus tear, I had one myself this year, and I'm older, so it took me a while to get over it, but he might be back in time for the Olympics, and I hear he's super hungry, he wants to play for a few more years."

"Don't discount Novak"

"Don't discount Novak – let's not forget that last year he won three of the four majors and was in the final of Wimbledon. I know a lot of people have been saying he's slowing down, this and that."

Not the same level

The Serbian ace hasn't been anywhere near the level he is used to performing at in 2024, having failed to win one title or make a final appearance.

24 Grand Slams

Despite his poor year to date, it's always difficult to discount a player who has won 24 Grand Slam titles, a record in the men's game.

"Olympic gold"

Rusedski said: "For him, if he won Olympic gold this year, he would have done everything he wanted this year, and he'll get ready for the majors next year."

"He'll be back"

"Once he's 100% fit – I'm pretty sure he won't be at Wimbledon, but he might sneak the Olympics – though he won't risk it if he's not healthy. I think he'll be back at the US Open with a bang, ready to go. Don't discount him."
