Grading every NFL team's week six performance
The NFL season is truly a magical time of year with storylines popping up all over the place, from trades to injuries, to coaches losing their jobs, it's non-stop entertainment! Each week is its own season, with performances often shocking and surprising fans and analysts. So, to keep on top of how each team is performing week to week, we are going to be giving each team a letter grade for each performance throughout the NFL season.
The Bills went into the home of a division rival and scraped a win in what could be a pivotal moment in the playoff hunt. Rather than both teams sitting at 3-3, the Bills now have a two-game lead in the AFC East. Josh Allen did Josh Allen stuff and put the team on his back once again, maybe the Bills could look to get him some help?
The Jets played OK against the Bills and on another night take home the W. Instead, they sit two games back in the AFC East with an interim head coach, and an aging QB who looks ready to implode at any moment.

Geno Smith is a good QB, but he didn't play like one on TNF, throwing two avoidable interceptions against the Niners. Only a Laviska Shenault kick-off return TD added respectability to the scoreline. Mike Macdonald's defense was picked apart, which should be equally worrying.
This was a relatively standard day for the Niners, with their infinite supply of offensive weapons racking up big yards and TDs. Defensively, they looked solid with Nick Bosa in Seattle's backfield all night long.
The Bears have found their QB in Caleb Williams, we're willing to say that early. His accuracy is incredible, his timing is improving week by week, and his rushing ability broke the back of the Jags whenever they seemed to have the Bears on the back foot. An impressive win in London for Chicago.
Just brutal. Trevor Lawrence had multiple touchdowns dropped by Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas Jr. and the defense could hardly get a stop all game. Could this be the end for Doug Pederson in Duval?
A tale of two halves for the Saints, who led 27-24 at the half before being blown out 27-51. Spencer Rattler had some nice moments, but it's too much to expect a fifth-round rookie to win games against a division rival who was out for blood.
Per CBS Sports, Sean Tucker had 92 yards and two touchdowns on 17 touches in the Bucs' blowout win against the Saints. To be honest, we didn't really know who Sean Tucker was before Sunday, and now he's destroying New Orleans in the Superdome, what a sport. The Bucs look like a legit NFC contender at this point.
We said before the season that the Ravens were going to be impossible to stop if they could get Derrick Henry going, and so far that has proven to be the case. Washington put up a good fight, but ultimately the Ravens outplayed, and out-talented the Commanders.
There was no shame in the Commanders' loss to the Ravens, as John Breech writes for CBS Sports here, “Although they lost, the Commanders should feel good about the fact that they went toe-to-toe with one of the NFL's best teams .” Defensively, the issues were on full display as Baltimore put up over 500 yards on the day.
Jordan Love is starting to look like the Jordan Love of December 2023 which should be a worry for all the other teams in the NFC. Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Christian Watson is an impressive receiving corps, and defensively they bottled up Kyler Murray for the most part.

The early season optimism is over for Arizona, who now sit 2-4. Admittedly, their schedule has been brutal so far, but there are clear issues all over the field, and we aren't sure how they solve them at this point of the season.
Will Levis isn't the guy. His performances so far in 2024 have been absolutely brutal, and he should probably spend some time on the bench before being given another start, although Mason Rudolph doesn't fill us with much confidence either.
Joe Flacco is ageless, still playing exactly like he did ten years ago with beautiful, pinpoint passes interspersed with horrendous interceptions. Still, the Colts did enough to get the win and now sit at .500.
Will Anderson feasted on Drake Maye to the tune of three sacks and CJ Stroud continues to impress. The Texans are 5-1 and look set to compete for the AFC title. This is a serious football team.
Drake Maye made some errors in his first NFL start but the talent is obvious throwing some dimes against a very good defense. If he can continue to improve, the Pats’ turnaround will be much quicker than some imagined.
Nick Sirianni was seen screaming at Philly fans after the Eagles scraped a win against one of the worst teams in football, which is emblematic of where this team is. The defense played well and Jalen Hurts hit some nice throws in what is clearly not Kellen Moore’s offense. It’s all pretty weird.
Deshaun Watson played a little better on Sunday than in previous weeks, but still looks pretty bad. Myles Garrett et al. wrecked the Philly run game, but a beat up secondary couldn’t do much against A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith.
We just have no idea what to expect from the Broncos moving forward, some weeks they look good, others bad, and sometimes they just sort of exist in a game that feels meaningless. They're forgettable right now, which is the worst thing an NFL team can be. They never looked like beating the Chargers, even if the scoreline looks close.
John Breech puts it well for CBS Sports, “When Herbert's healthy, the Chargers are an efficient offensive team that rarely makes mistakes and when you have the defense playing this well, LA is difficult to beat.” It's not exciting, but it works.
At what point did the Raiders genuinely feel Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell were the right options to lead this team? We didn't get it before the season and after another terrible performance against the Steelers, we aren't any closer to getting it now.
The Steelers' defense is one of the best units in football, and they showed out again against the Raiders. Justin Fields should remain the starting QB after another solid showing that included two rushing TDs, something Russell Wilson will struggle to match at this stage of his career.
Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson rushed for 200 yards and three TDs on just 33 carries, per ESPN. If the Falcons can get rushing production like that consistently, it'll make Kirk Cousins' job so much easier. Drake London continues to impress.
Honestly, for the Panthers, this was about as good as they can expect right now. This is an awful football team from top to bottom (give or take a few players) and they may need to start thinking about whether to take a QB next year already.
The Lions were having fun with the Cowboys, running flea flickers, hook-and-ladders to an offensive lineman, and even using an OL as a wide receiver at one point. This was offensive domination, and they held Dallas to just nine points at the same time. Ben Johnson should be asking for a blank check wherever he ends up as the head coach next year.
We're still not sure what to expect from the Bengals given their early struggles. On paper, there is too much talent to ignore, but it's just not working right now. Still, they ground out a win against the Giants even when they didn't play well, which is sometimes enough to kickstart a season.
The Giants' defense is becoming a good unit very quickly with one of the best pass-rushing groups in the NFL, however, New York's offense is awful and will cost them games. Malik Nabers' absence was evident as Daniel Jones et al. struggled to find the end zone.
