It’s no joke: FC Barcelona has signed Mbacke!

Barcelona is yet to release the official figures behind the deal, however, when taking a look at the player valuations, Mbacke's worth is around €2 million (£1.68m/$2.17m), according to Transfermarkt.
Mamadou Mbacke previously played for Barca Atletic (junior squad) and arrived on loan to Barcelona as part of the reserve team in the summer of 2023, later making his debut in November.
In total, Mbacke played 22 games, scoring two goals, according to Transfermarkt. However, an untimely injury to his left ankle caused him to miss the final stretch of the season.
But beyond football, this strange coincidence has been a major talking point on social media, with both memes and messages flying in every direction.
"Ironically, this perfectly represents the situation of both clubs. One, a title champion securing a world-class signing, while the other lingers with sub-par acquisitions," shared a user on social media.
If the Clásico featuring Mbappe and Mbacke arrives, it's certain that social media will make both players trend.
For now, it remains to be seen whether the Senegalese center-back will be part of the first team or stay with the reserve squad, potentially denying us the unexpected duel that no one anticipated, but everyone now dreams of.
