Luis Rubiales: Spanish FA president's mother declares a hunger strike over kiss scandal

The Spanish FA president's mother claimed an "inhumane and bloody hunt is undergoing, targeting my son with something he does not deserve." Luis Rubiales has been under fire from all sides following his kissing scandal during the World Cup final.

With these words, as reported by the EFE Agency, Ángeles Béjar, mother of Luis Rubiales, has described the situation that the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is experiencing.

When it seemed that this Monday's meeting at the RFEF would monopolize the media spotlight, Béjar surprised locals and strangers with an unexpected decision.

Rubiales' mother has settled into the Church of the Devine Shepherd, in Motril (southern Spain) the hometown of the former RFEF president.

In addition, Ángeles Béjar has mainained she will be on an indefinite hunger strike for the duration of her confinement, in which she will be accompanied by her sister and Luis Rubiales' aunt.

To overthrow her decision, the mother of the former RFEF president demands Jenni Hermoso tell the truth about what happened around the kiss scandal after winning the World Cup final.

Ángeles Béjar wants Jenni Hermoso to "maintain her original statement," when she publically acknowledges what happened regarding the kiss.

Béjar's dramatic actions come after her son was suspended for 90 days by FIFA, awaiting a decision on his role in the RFEF following the controversial incident at the Women's World Cup.

On the other hand, more and more voices are joining Jenni Hermoso's stance, both nationally and internationally.

Spanish athletes such as Andrés Iniesta and Pau Gasol were quick to support the footballer, while Hollywood celebrities have also weighed in over the weekend. Most recently, Natalie Portman shared an article from the 'New York Times' condemning the actions on her Instagram account.
