The Croatian midfielder closed the 2024 season with a bang and some very prolific stats for the 38-year-old player. According to Onefootball, Modric scored 2 goals and provided 6 important assists in his 44 games last season.

"It's impossible to beat so many teams, so many Champions, to reach so many semi-finals, just by luck," shared the Croatian international during a post-match press conference in 2022.

One more year

During the 2024 Champions League celebration at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Real Madrid '10' gave fans a hint of a possible contract renewal at the end of the season.

"I'm sure that Modric will stay one more season," shared Florentino Perez after the 2024 Wembley Final. The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner is set to stay for one last dance at the Bernabeu.

"Luka Modric stays at Real Madrid as he will sign a new deal next week -  here we go, confirmed. The final meeting with Florentino Perez will be exactly as expected. Put pen to paper, take pictures, then announce it. Modric didn't care about money, he rejected two big proposals," Fabrizio Romano reported.
