NFL Draft 2024: Mock Draft 1.0, picks 17-32

For most of the teams in the second half of round one, it can often be more about finding a player to take them to the next level than drafting a cornerstone of a franchise rebuild. We are using regular season records to rank the final four teams, otherwise, we are sticking to the draft order with no trades. So let’s take a look at who could go where! 

Fuaga, standing at an imposing 6’6” and 325lbs is the perfect body shape for a right tackle, which is a position the Jags desperately need to fill. This draft should be all about building up their offensive line to give Trevor Lawrence as good a shot as possible. This is a popular pick by many draft analysts, with Bucky Brooks from NFL.com and Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports making the same choice.

Tee Higgins is likely gone in the offseason leaving a big hole in their wide receiver room, Coleman is exactly the sort of player who can fill that hole immediately. Coleman is big and physical and should fit in perfectly with Joe Burrow.

The Rams’ season went better than anyone could have predicted, but there are still glaring weaknesses on the roster, with tackle being one of them. Getting a player as talented as Mims this late in round one is a coup for the Rams.

Probably the best name in the draft and arguably the best corner as well, McKinstry should fit in nicely to the Steelers’ D opposite Joey Porter Jr. Adding talent to their defense seems to be Pittsburgh's number one priority, with NFL.com and CBS Sports both selecting defensive players in this slot.

Like many teams across the NFL, the Dolphins need to upgrade their offensive line and Fautanu could be a big part of that. Possibly sliding inside to guard in the NFL, the Washington prospect has good size and quick feet to help in the Dolphins’ complex run scheme.

Some draft experts have Arnold as their number one corner, meaning a slide to 22 would be a steal for the Eagles who are in desperate need of youth to their DB room. Arnold has the potential to be a lockdown corner in man coverage and would probably start immediately. Will McFadden of Sports Illustrated has the Eagles taking Quinyon Mitchell from Toledo here, but we have Arnold available and ranked higher as a CB.

The Texans stunned the league with their rapid turnaround in 2023, but the defensive weaknesses were ultimately too much to deal with. Adding Sweat to their defensive interior gives them some huge size for opposition guards to deal with.

The Cowboys have one of the most talented rosters in football, but a glaring weakness at right cost them at least one game. Kingsley Suamataia is a giant of a man and projects well as an immovable object on the right side of the Dallas o-line. 

Help along the offensive line could be the pick here, but the Packers need to keep building up their defensive talent and Wiggins can help them do just that.

Mike Evans is one of the best wide receivers in the league and has been for a decade, why not pair him with another playmaker and set Baker Mayfield up for success next season? The Bucs may be kicking the QB question down the road but they’re still good enough to compete now.

The Cardinals need pass rushers and Trice is exactly that. Jonathan Gannon did good job in year one in Arizona but now needs to start winning games, Trice can be an impactful defender from day one.

DeJean is an athletic freak who could start at corner right away for Sean McDermott’s team and return punts as well. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com has the same selection here, citing Buffalo's love for, "versatile defensive backs with instincts and a high football IQ".

The Chiefs are still one of the best teams in the league even in a down year which is crazy to think about. Eventually they are going to need to address the receiving options and with Travis Kelce aging, taking a young and talented TE for him to groom makes a ton of sense.

Great name, freak athlete, and is possibly the perfect player to partner across from Aidan Hutchinson along the Lions’ defensive line.

Due to bad offensive line play, Brock Purdy has been under attack at times. Despite having first-ballot HoFer Trent Willaims at LT, elsewhere along the line, there are significant weaknesses. Jackson Powers-Johnson can help address those.

Legette is a huge wide receiver with incredible speed, almost Madden create-a-player-like. The Ravens have patched together a good wide receiving group with some veterans and Zay Flowers, why not double down and grab someone with elite potential? Pro Football Focus currently has Legette as their 10th best WR in the class, but we think he could shoot up draft boards with a great showing at the scouting combine.
