NFL Rich List: Who are the highest paid players in the league?
The NFL is the most profitable sports league in the world meaning there is plenty of cash to throw at the league’s superstars. Let’s take a look at the top 20 highest-paid players in the NFL, as reported by NFL.com.
Tannehill has put together a solid career since being drafted way back in 2012, his career as a starting NFL quarterback looks to be nearing its ending, but that’s not stopping him from earning nearly $30 million this year!
Tyreek currently sits top of the receiving yards list through week six of the 2023 NFL season, over 140 yards ahead of A.J. Brown in second place. Looks like he’s earning every cent of his $30 million salary.
A first-ballot Hall of Famer when he becomes eligible, Donald is arguably the best player ever at his position and one of the very best players in the league over the past decade.
Goff has come into his own since his move to the Lions, a rare NFL trade that worked out for both sides. If Detroit keeps up their early season pace he could well be underpaid this season.
Bosa is a key part of the 49ers' exceptional defense, able to destroy opposition offenses by himself at times. $34 million is a lot for a defensive end, yet this looks like a bargain.
Whilst it’s not been smooth sailing this season for the Vikings, Cousins has put together a very good career for a guy drafted to be Robert Griffin III’s backup.
Carr and the Saints haven’t looked a perfect match yet with an offense that isn’t quite firing. Carr has a body of work that suggests he can improve, and the Saints will certainly hope so given his £37.5 million salary!
What could’ve been? Rodgers lasted just four snaps in his debut season for the Jets before tearing his Achilles heel. He took a big pay cut to move to the Big Apple, so expect him to be back and firing soon.
Stafford’s career is nearing its end yet he’s still playing at a very high level. The Rams went all in to win the Super Bowl a couple of years ago and Stafford was a huge part of that making this salary seem well worth it.
There was a chance the Giants could franchise tag Jones and give him one more year to prove himself before signing him to a long-term contract. Instead, they gave him a four-year, $160 million deal…
Dak is a very good quarterback and a big part of some high-flying Cowboys offenses in recent years. In comparison, this is a pretty good deal for a player of this quality.
Allen’s contract extension is worth over $258 million, not a bad sum for anyone. I’m not sure the Bills will be complaining though given how important he is to their Super Bowl hopes!
The best quarterback in the league, and possibly ever. The Chiefs could be paying Mahomes $100 million a year and it could well be justified.
The Browns have been very good this year, recently handing the Niners their first loss of the year, unfortunately, Watson was not part of that and hasn’t been quite at the level the team was hoping for when trading for him.
Murray looked like the next big thing during his first few seasons in the NFL, since then injuries and some reported work ethic issues, have kept him from reaching the elite.
Wilson’s blockbuster trade to the Broncos after a decade at the Seahawks looked to be the start of something special at the mile-high stadium, it has not been…
Hurts has been putting up monster numbers over the past couple of seasons, becoming a huge part of the Eagles’ recent success. A team always happy to pay their stars, the Eagles will be happy to have Hurts long term.
It looked for a little while like there was a divorce on the cards between Jackson and the Ravens, all it took was a five-year, $260 million contract to ease tensions.
Part of the new wave of elite quarterbacks in the NFL following the retirement of Brady, Brees, etc. Herbert and the Chargers haven’t quite clicked so far in 2023 but the talent it there and worth every cent.
And the highest-paid player in the NFL, according to NFL.com is the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow. An exceptional player who will consistently keep his team in the Super Bowl hunt season after season.
