While some believe Tyson may have the advantage, with his extensive experience and legendary status, that very seniority could also be his biggest handicap. At 58 years old and 15 years into retirement, Tyson faces the 27-year-old Jake Paul, who is in peak physical condition and at the height of his boxing career.

Adding to the intrigue, it has been over 40 years since Mike Tyson made his professional boxing debut – a milestone reached long before Jake Paul was even born.

Jake Paul, in contrast, has 11 fights to his name, boasting 10 wins (7 by knockout) and just one loss. Despite his undeniable potential, many still underestimate him due to his background as a YouTuber. Yet, the truth is, he has proven himself to be a skilled and formidable boxer.

The fight is expected to reach an even larger audience via streaming, as it will be broadcast worldwide on Netflix at no additional cost — a stark contrast to the usual $100 fee (approximately €93 or £85) for events of this caliber.

Curiously, the suspension of the fight last summer has worked in its favor, significantly boosting anticipation and expectations for the bout.

The fight was originally scheduled for July 20, 2024, but a stomach ulcer prevented Mike Tyson from competing at full capacity, leading to the date being rescheduled to November 15. In the months since, both fighters have gone all in on promoting the event, including several public spats that have only heightened the drama and anticipation.

The fight will consist of 8 rounds, each lasting 2 minutes (normally 3 minutes), at the request of Mike Tyson. He asked to shorten each round by a minute to increase the intensity and, most likely, to help him reach the eventual eighth round.
