'Stupid!': Kevin De Bruyne's disgraceful gesture after France-Belgium

Belgium lost to France in the round of 16 of Euro 2024 and, after the match, Belgian captain Kevin De Bruyne had to fulfil his press commitments.

There are great footballers who can change completely in front of the media, and that's what happened to De Bruyne after Belgium's elimination.

Belgium have had a very disappointing Euro 2024 and were eliminated from the tournament after an own goal by Jan Vertonghen in Düsseldorf. France advance to the quarter-finals.

A frustrated De Bruyne faced the press after the defeat and ended up insulting a journalist who was simply doing his job.

The journalist wanted to know how De Bruyne felt, knowing that Belgium's 'Golden Generation' did not win any trophies.

It was a relevant question, as just before, De Bruyne had been asked about a possible retirement from the national team and did not make his continuity clear.

Instead of just answering the question, De Bruyne chose to reply with another question.

"And you say that France and England and Spain and Germany is not a golden generation?" De Bruyne asked, per The Mirror.

However, the worst was yet to come. De Bruyne, visibly angry, left, but not without lashing out to said journalist.

"Stupid," De Bruyne said, as he left the press area. The insult went around the world and has sparked controversy, in Belgium and beyond.

De Bruyne's reaction seems out of place for a country's captain, who is expected to lead by example and show respect, even after a painful defeat. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
