Heather Hardy is suffering from effects of 'too much brain damage'
"When you have a concussion, a part of your brain dies and you never get it back. Can you imagine that? I've had too much brain damage over 10 years," shared Heather Hardy on her Instagram.
The former American fighter released a public statement on her social media, to announce that she will not attend her next fight and will have to hang up her gloves for good, leaving professional boxing behind.
Heather Hardy, born in January 1982, has been boxing professionally since 2012. Throughout her extensive career, she claimed the world featherweight champion title... However, she took a serious beating for it.

She has analyzed all the possible situations, but the former American fighter needs to step out of the ring to avoid further damage.
"I will not be able to see, run, jog, jump rope, or receive blows to the head," shared Hardy on her social media.
For this reason, Heather Hardy has suspended the fight against Christine Ferea, Bare Knuckle FC flyweight champion.

Hardy came to this conclusion after her last fight in August 2023, where she faced Amanda Serrano. The American fighter took a beating and lost the fight to her true nemesis.
"After my fight with Amanda, my vision was blurred for a few days. I went to have an MRI, they checked my vision and they diagnosed me with the consequences of a concussion," she comments on Instagram.
In another fight held in 2019, Serrano delivered a total of 278 blows on Heather Hardy. That is no joke!
Furthermore, back in 2020, she received "over 60 stitches on her face and numerous concussions," leaving her in a pretty bad condition.

"I have spent nights where I almost fainted in the sauna, trying to cut weight," she shared on social media.
Faced with such a situation, choosing between her health and boxing, Heather Hardy is pretty clear. "After seeing a doctor, he told me I'd had too many concussions," so the choice seems simple... It's time to cash out!
