Mock Draft 8.0 picks 17-32: More Trades?

17: Jacksonville Jaguars - Laiatu Latu
18: Cincinnati Bengals - Amarius Mims
19: Los Angeles Rams - Jared Verse
20: Pittsburgh Steelers - Jackson Powers-Johnson
21: Miami Dolphins - Graham Barton
22: San Francisco 49ers - Troy Fautanu
23: New England Patriots - Brian Thomas Jr.
24: Dallas Cowboys - Ladd McConkey
25: Philadelphia Eagles - Cooper DeJean
26: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Chop Robinson
27: Arizona Cardinals - Jer'Zhan Newton
28: Buffalo Bills - Adonai Mitchell
29: Detroit Lions - Darius Robinson
30: Baltimore Ravens - Tyler Guyton
31: Green Bay Packers - Kingsley Suamataia
32: Kansas City Chiefs - Xavier Worthy
17: Jacksonville Jaguars - Laiatu Latu

The Jags’ defense was not good last year, despite Josh Allen putting up great numbers on the edge. Adding another high-quality pass rusher to the mix can only help a unit that needs to rapidly improve.

18: Cincinnati Bengals - Amarius Mims

Sports Illustrated has offensive tackle as the Bengals’ number one need, and we agree. Mims may need some polishing to become a star in the NFL, but taking a 6’8”, 340 lbs freak athlete is never a bad idea.

19: Los Angeles Rams - Jared Verse

We aren’t convinced EDGE is where the Rams will go at 19, but NFL Media, CBS Sports, and The Ringer all have them taking a pass rusher here, so maybe we’re missing something.

20: Pittsburgh Steelers - Jackson Powers-Johnson

Having an elite center is a luxury in the NFL, and not one the Steelers have had for quite some time. Powers-Johnson is the consensus best center in the draft, making this a nice fit.

21: Miami Dolphins - Graham Barton

Barton is starting to get more and more hype as the draft process continues, with Chad Reuter mocking him going at 16 in a trade-up by the Eagles. In our mock, he falls to the Dolphins, who could look to use him as a center.

22: San Francisco 49ers - Troy Fautanu

The Niners need offensive line help and with the pick of the litter gone, they get aggressive and trade their first and third-round picks to the Eagles to move up to 22 and take Fautanu.

23: New England Patriots - Brian Thomas Jr.

The Pats use the second of their two first-rounders (acquired via trade with the Vikings) to grab the best wide receiver left in the draft.

24: Dallas Cowboys - Ladd McConkey

The Cowboys are in “win-now” mode, so despite needing offensive line help, they decide to not take a risk on a project like Tyler Guyton and take an NFL-ready wideout in McConkey.

25: Philadelphia Eagles - Cooper DeJean

The Eagles jump back up to 25 in some classic Howie Roseman manoeuvring and take Dejean, adding a “playmaking ball-hawk,” per The Ringer, to a secondary that needs some youth.

26: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Chop Robinson

The Bucs need some pass-rushing help, and Robinson can potentially give them that from day one. He’s a rare athlete who should make the jump to the NFL.

27: Arizona Cardinals - Jer'Zhan Newton

Bryan DeArdo describes Newton as, “a one-man wrecking crew at Illinois.” Jonathan Gannon will be licking his lips at the prospect of putting him in the middle of his defense.

28: Buffalo Bills - Adonai Mitchell

The Bills need wide receiver help and there isn’t anyone better than Mitchell still available, making this a nice fit. Mitchell has good size and speed, putting together a great season in 2023, Josh Allen shouldn’t miss Steffon Diggs too much following this pick.

29: Detroit Lions - Darius Robinson

Darius Robinson makes sense for the Lions at 29 as they add an EDGE defender with experience playing inside to help a defense that needs to generate more pressure.

30: Baltimore Ravens - Tyler Guyton

Per Bryan DeArdo for CBS Sports, “The general consensus is that the Ravens are taking Guyton if he's still on the board,” in this mock, he is making this an easy one to mock.

31: Green Bay Packers - Kingsley Suamataia

As Packers Wire puts it, “Rasheed Walker was just fine at left tackle, but can the Packers do better?” For us, they can, and Suamataia may be the player to upgrade that spot in the long run.

32: Kansas City Chiefs - Xavier Worthy

We can see a scenario where the Chiefs trade down here, but given Worthy’s ludicrous athleticism, we’re sending the 40-yard dash record-breaker to KC because it’s fun, and we can.
