Tyson v Paul is ON despite Iron Mike’s major health scare

Mike Tyson has released a statement saying he is “100 per cent” after suffering a health scare while on a recent flight, per The Daily Mail.

Per TalkSport, Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up that caused him to feel dizzy and nauseous while on board a flight.

Some fans were worried the American’s health issues would cause a postponement to his bout against Jake Paul in July.

The former world heavyweight champion took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce he was, “feeling 100 per cent even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”

Per The Daily Mail, Tyson is “doing great” despite his ulcer flare-ups, which occurred roughly 30 minutes before his flight landed.

Jake Paul was quick to respond to Tyson, writing, “You love to make s*** up before knowing the facts for clicks/likes. Nothing changed,” on X.

Many speculated Tyson v Paul would be an exhibition fight, but DAZN has confirmed it is a fully sanctioned fight comprised of eight two-minute rounds and that both fighters will wear 14-ounce gloves, which are heavier than usual.

Ryan Garcia, who has recently made headlines for testing positive for PEDs, wrote on X, “If Mike can’t fight I’ll sub in,” to which Paul responded, “Everyone is trying to do everything they can to hurt this fight and attack me. You should know about that.” suggesting he is unwilling to fight Garcia.

Jake Paul currently sits at 9-1 in his professional boxing career, per BoxRec, with his sole loss coming against Tommy Fury in February 2022.

On the other hand, Mike Tyson hasn’t fought in a competitive bout since 2005 when he lost via TKO to Kevin McBride, per ESPN. Now 58, it will be a test of his training and endurance more than boxing skill to see if he can beat a fighter 21 years his junior.
