2024 NFL Mock Draft 4.0: Picks 1-16

Strangely, the 2024 draft is almost certainly going to be shaped by a player not getting selected this year. The status of Justin Fields is up in the air at the moment with CBS Sports reporting the Bears are open to trading their young QB. So let’s take a look at how that could work.

Fields is gone, traded to New England for the third overall pick. His replacement is Caleb Williams who is, for us, the best QB in the draft and we expect him to go number one.

Maye is the second-best quarterback in the draft and the Commanders are in desperate need of an upgrade there. This is nice and simple.

The Giants trade up to the Bears’ newly acquired third overall pick, sending the Bears the sixth pick and a third-rounder in the 2024 draft, plus a 2025 first-rounder, and take Daniels, considered the third-best QB in the draft by many including Pro Football Focus.

Unless something strange happens, the Cardinals are going to be very happy to sit back and select the “uber-talented” Marvina Harrison Jr., per Daniel Jeremiah for NFL Network.

We’ve flittered between a wide receiver or an offensive lineman with this pick in the past, but ultimately teams are built from the trenches outwards making Alt a fantastic pick.

Nabers is a freakishly good ran-after-catch receiver, which should pair nicely with DJ Moore’s downfield skillset.

Fuaga is a player we love, his size and strength is so apparent when you watch him play, meaning he is very rarely losing reps. As The Ringer reports, Fuaga could play tackle or guard in the NFL if needed, which could create a dominant interior for the Titans with last year’s first-rounder Peter Skoronski.

This is not a pick we love at all, but it’s one we’ve seen a lot in NFL circles, especially from Daniel Jeremiah in his recent mock. We try not to be swayed by other’s opinions too much, but sometimes the experts are just that for a reason.

The Bears are going to leave the 2024 draft with three top-10 selections, quite a masterful performance from their front office. After going offensive with the first two selections, they take the best EDGE in the draft in Turner.

Protect your old quarterback, please. That should be the message to the Jets’ front office, and if they’re listening, and the board falls this way, they’ll take Fashanu. Insert joke about taking another defensive end here.

Daniel Jeremiah describes Verse as a “difference-maker up front,” which is exactly what the Vikings need, especially if Danielle Hunter moves on. Even if he doesn’t Verse will become his heir apparent as the number one pass rusher in their defense.

Nix becomes the fifth quarterback taken in the first 12 picks of the 2024 draft, which would be quite remarkable. We don’t think Nix should be drafted this high, but the Broncos are setting themselves up to move on from Russell Wilson and will need a QB.

The Ringer’s mock draft has the Raiders taking JC Latham from Bama with this pick, with the rationale being they will want a “mauling offensive lineman”. We agree, we just really like Mims.

This is significantly higher than we have previously had Robinson going, but the Saints' number one draft need is defensive end, per Saints Wire. Robinson is “hyper-explosive,” per The Ringer, and should make an impact from day one.

Arnold is quietly becoming the number-one option at cornerback as the draft process goes on. Daniel Jeremiah’s description of him as a, “big-time playmaker who is just scratching the surface of his potential,” should make for exciting reading for Colts fans.

Bowers slips all the way to 16 in this mock and the Seahawks are going to need a tight end this offseason with their top two heading for free agency. Bowers is a better prospect than both and should add another explosive element to their offense.
