Can Anthony Joshua become an all-time heavyweight boxing great?
British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua put the world on notice on March 8th, brutally knocking out Francis Ngannou in the second round in Saudi Arabia.
Many combat experts believed Ngannou would beat Joshua after the UFC champions performance against Tyson Fury in October, in which he knocked Fury down before losing on decision.
According to Sky Sports, heavyweight boxer Dillian Whyte said: "I think that fight (with Fury) gave him false confidence to the point where, when he was getting hammered with big punches, he stayed in the pocket, and he wasn't trying to move his head or hold or anything."

"Someone like AJ, an experienced gold medallist, all these world title fights, he covers the basics on a daily basis and that is where Francis came unstuck."
For Anthony Joshua, the brutal way in which he secured the victory over Ngannou has reminded the boxing world of Joshua's resume and elite talent in heavyweight boxing and proved he can go down as an all-time great.
ESPN reported that Anthony Joshua is the former two-time unified WBO, IBF, and WBA heavyweight champion, holding the belts from March 2018 to July 2019 and then December 2019 to September 2021.
After already securing the heavyweight belts on two occasions, 2024 and 2025 could be crucial years in which he puts himself with the all-time greats of heavyweight boxing.
According to the Daily Mail, only Muhammed Ali, Lennox Lewis, Vitali Klitschko, and Evander Holyfield are heavyweight boxers to become four-time champions, and Joshua could be next on the list.
If Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are to fight each other twice, the IBF intends to make their belt available for Joshua and Filip Hrgovic to battle it out, giving Joshua the chance to become a three-time world champion.
If Joshua were to beat Hrgovic for the IBF belt and then fight Tyson Fury in a 'Battle of Britain' undisputed heavyweight title fight, Joshua would become a four-time world champion and the third undisputed heavyweight champion of the 21st century.

Of course, these are all big ifs for Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua, but after humiliating defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and Andy Ruiz in the past, Joshua has defied the odds and come back as the best version of himself.
Hrgovic and Fury are going to be tough opposition for Joshua, but the Englishman has a track record of defeating some of the best in his division.
According to ESPN, Joshua has beaten the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and Kubrat Pulev to retain or win his championship belts. According to BoxRec, those four together have 166 wins and 14 losses.
The Mirror reported that Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said: "Tyson Fury calls everybody out and says everything, that's just not AJ's style, his resume is in a different league to Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury has fought Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder, that's it."
However, the only mark that separates the pair of them is that Joshua has been defeated three times, and Fury is still undefeated with one draw on his record.
Will Anthony Joshua go down as an all-time great heavyweight boxer, or will Tyson Fury end his career in a 'Battle of Britain' showdown?
