FC Midtjylland confirm diagnosis following Kristoffer Olsson's sudden brain illness
FC Midtjylland have confirmed their player and former Arsenal midfielder Kristoffer Olsson has been diagnosed as having multiple blood clots on both sides of his brain as a result of an "extremely rare inflammatory condition in his brain vessels."
A statement read: "Based on the extensive examinations, scans, and tests of recent weeks, the doctors can now determine that Kristoffer is affected by several small blood clots on both sides of the brain."
Olsson's condition is now stable, and the doctors have continued to see little signs of progression. With that, his degree of consciousness has increased.

On March 16th, the Arsenal under 18s players paid their tributes to Olsson, having warmed up in a training top with the Swede's name on their backs.
Olsson collapsed at home on the 20th of February due to blood clots on the brain.
The Swedish international, who has collected 47 caps for this country, was transferred to Aarhus University Hospital where he has since been on a ventilator, according to The Guardian.
After being transferred to the hospital, it was confirmed that Olsson had been affected by an acute disease in the brain, which had not been caused by self-harm of any kind.
FC Midtjylland confirmed that Denmark's 'leading medical experts' were working quickly to get Olsson a diagnosis, doing so at the beginning of March.
Olsson's club was forced to break the news of his condition due to media pressure in Denmark about his absence from the team in their 3-2 away win against Aarhus on the 25th of February.
The club released a statement: "Everyone at FC Midtjylland is of course deeply affected by Kristoffer's sudden illness, and our thoughts and full support go to Kristoffer and his family."

The Swedish international has been instrumental in FC Midtjylland's season this year, playing in 13 of the 19 league games and providing two assists from midfield, according to Transfermarkt.
On the Arsenal website, the club describes Olsson as a "technically gifted midfielder" who was "composed in possession and accomplished in front of goal."
The Swedish midfielder made his first-team debut for Arsenal in September 2013, scoring in a penalty shootout against West Brom.
Olsson played at Arsenal for four years before joining FC Midtjylland for his first spell before playing for AIK in Sweden, Krasnodar in Russia, Anderlecht in Belgium, and then rejoining FC Midtjylland in 2022.
