Is Real Madrid suffering from biased refereeing?
The Real Madrid squad has recently voiced out against recent refereeing experiences in La Liga, amid a season filled with controversy surrounding the CTA (Spanish Referring Committee) following corruption allegations linked with FC Barcelona. Although Carlo Ancelotti's men currently lead the league in points, the squad has suffered a series of questionable refereeing outcomes throughout the season.
Jude Bellingham was sent off during Real Madrid's fixture against Valencia CF, following a controversial last-minute goal that was disallowed by the referee's final whistle. The referee, Jesus Gil Manzano blew the whistle the instant Brahim Diaz crossed the ball for Jude's 3-2 winning header.
"It's a f****** goal, the ball is in the air. What the f*** is that", Bellingham told referee Gil Manzano. The English midfielder was later sent off despite his protests on the pitch.

According to Goal, Real Madrid will appeal Bellingham's red card. It remains to be seen whether he will be sanctioned for his comments towards the referee.
According to Onefootball, the refereeing incident at Valencia is considered one of the biggest scandals in recent years, and Real Madrid will double down on pressuring referees.
The Spanish publication, Marca, reports on the situation at the club, highlighting the overall unhappiness with the current refereeing situation. "While they [Real Madrid] know that 'nothing can close the wound', they will raise their voice in outrage at what they perceive to be biased treatment against them", adds Onefootball.
The club aims to force a major change in the refereeing body following what they feel is a very compulsive time for the CTA.

The Real Madrid captain, Dani Carvajal, was sent off against Rayo Vallecano. A heated derby that saw a lot of pushing and shoving, however, Real Madrid lost their right back to a silly challenge after he was repeatedly fouled by Kike Perez.
The referees seem to be rather 'trigger' happy when it comes to Real Madrid fixtures. According to AS, 'Los Blancos' are the most fouled team in La Liga. Vini Jr and Jude Bellingham are some of the most targeted players in the league, yet recent refereeing scandals display a biased attitude towards the young stars.
Nevertheless, there is the other side of the argument that smaller teams suffer biased refereeing when facing 'Los Blancos'. According to Marca, Sevilla FC amongst other La Liga teams, have submitted formal complaints on Real Madrid TV, who have been pressuring referees with weekly hit pieces on individual officials.
During the Real Madrid-UD Almeria fixture, 'Los Blancos' was favored by Hernandez Maeso and the VAR official Hernandez Hernandez for a controversial call. VAR disallowed Almeria an important goal while also giving Madrid a penalty. According to Onefootball, VAR audio from the game displays a clear bias towards Almeria.
