Mexican football player Carlos Salcedo shaken by tragic murder of his sister
Paola Salcedo, sister of Cruz Azul defender Carlos Salcedo (pictured), was murdered last Saturday, June 29. The crime reportedly occurred in Huixquilucan, a municipality in the State of Mexico, according to Marca.
The death was confirmed on Monday, July 1, by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico, El Universal reported. Paola Salcedo was 29 years old.

As reported by People, the event occurred around 8:10 p.m. on Saturday after Paola Salcedo went to a circus event with her son. The young woman was taken to hospital, but died from her injuries.

"According to the testimonies collected from the people who witnessed the alleged event, the woman left the interior of a circus where she was to answer a phone call," the Control, Command, Communication and Computing Center – the State of Mexico's emergency service line – stated, after reporting that they received a call alerting them to an armed attack against a woman
According to journalist Carlos Jiménez, the young woman was in her truck with her son and an assistant when two people tried to assault her. According to the assistant, one of the people demanded Salcedo's purse and the keys to the truck.
According to Univision, the two suspects shot her several times. The driver allegedly “received two gunshot wounds” and “four more were left” in the vehicle.
Carlos Salcedo's team, Cruz Azul – based in Mexico City – published an image in X where they expressed their regret for the death of the player's sister and offered their "deepest condolences."
The Cruz Azul player has republished his team's note with a message of gratitude to everyone. Carlos Salcedo is a central defender in the team, which plays in Mexico's First Division.
Until 2019, Paola Salcedo hosted a program for the Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara Club, as Marca reports. The young woman also participated in the program "Líderes del Baño", broadcast on YouTube on the Los Líderes channel.
As Marca recalls, Salcedo had a son with the Uruguayan soccer player Nicolás Vikonis (pictured). After having her son, she moved away from social networks and public life. The young woman was quite secretive about her private life.
