Cristiano Ronaldo's incredible gesture before Georgia-Portugal
Upset at Euro 2024 as Georgia beat Portugal on the final matchday in Group F to book a place in the round of 16.
Georgia's star man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was key for his country, scoring the first goal after a deadly counter-attack. Georges Mikautadze added a second from the penalty spot.
In their debut Euros, Kvaratskhelia and his compatriots made history by advancing to the next round and finishing third in their group after Portugal and Turkey. Georgia played with a big heart and has already captured many fans' hearts.

Kvaratskhelia is his country's undisputed star and is highly respected in the world of football. This became clear after the match when he swapped shirts with the great Cristiano Ronaldo, as we could see on the Georgian's Instagram account.
"I got Ronaldo's jersey and we've made it through to the next round. This is the best day in the lives of Georgian football fans," Kvaratskhelia was quoted by Goal after the match.
"We've made history, no one would believe we'd make it happen. No one would believe we could beat Portugal but that's why we're a strong team; if there's even a 1% chance, we've shown we can make it happen," he continued.
According to Goal, the two stars also exchanged some words before the game, with Ronaldo showing excellent sportsmanship. "Before the match there was a meeting [with Ronaldo] and he wished me success; I'd never imagine he would come and talk to me."
"He's a great player and a great person. That's why he's a great personality in and out of football; I have so much respect for him, he's one of the best players in the world," Kvaratskhelia added.
"When he comes to talk to you before the match, that's amazing; that helped us believe we could do something today." Kvaratskhelia and Georgia now face Spain in the round of 16, one of the big favourites. Can they add another chapter to their dream?
Ronaldo, for his part, is up against Slovenia in the next round, which on paper looks like an easy task, but of course we're still talking about football, as Georgia showed.
