Álvaro Morata's bizarre injury after Spain-France
Álvaro Morata has had a minor impact so far at Euro 2024, scoring just one goal, in Spain's opening match against Croatia.
However, his work and off-the-ball movements are very much appreciated by Luis de la Fuente, who has no intention of taking him out of the team, unless he gets injured. And that is precisely what has happened, in the strangest of ways, after the game against France.
In the 76th minute, Morata was substituted for Mikel Merino. The Atletico Madrid striker was tired but not injured and stayed with his teammates until the match was over and Spain went through to the final.

That's when the players started celebrating on the pitch, with hugs, families, chants, dances and ... an injury! Morata, who was not injured in the match, got injured during the celebration. But how?
A security guard was trying to stop a spectator who had jumped onto the pitch, who was wearing a Turkey shirt and was heading towards Morata. The guard would make a sprint that would prove fatal.
As he reached Morata, the security guard slipped and took the striker with him, who began to limp noticeably.
Morata was clearly in pain with a look on his face that worried his teammates and the Spanish staff.
At a press conference, Spain coach Luis de la Fuente said that Morata was in pain, but that tests would have to be carried out on Wednesday to check the severity.
However, according to Marca, Spain's medical team did not yet rule out a serious injury that could be devastating for Morata.
