A talented group

Every NFL draft has its strengths and weaknesses, this year, there is a huge collection of talented QBs and wide receivers, but the position with the most depth in the whole draft is offensive line. With that being said, there could still well be a lot of competition for the top prospects…

1: Chicago Bears - Caleb Williams

Rinse and repeat from every mock draft out there, if the Bears were doing something different here, it would be the biggest shock in draft history.

2: Washington Commanders - Jayden Daniels

We prefer Drake Maye to Daniels, and some analysts (Jared Dubin, CBS Sports) still have Maye going to Washington, but the majority of experts have Daniels as the pick here.

3: New England Patriots - Drake Maye

The Pats would be stupid to not take the QB who falls here, they need a full rebuild, and there’s no point doing that until you have a QB.

4: Minnesota Vikings - J.J. McCarthy

Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz has McCarthy going to the Pats at three, which would gift the Vikings Drake Maye. In our mock, Maye is gone, so McCarthy is the pick following an aggressive trade up with the Cardinals. The deal includes both of Minnesota’s first-round picks this year.

5: Los Angeles Chargers - Joe Alt

Field Yates and Mel Kiper have the Vikings trading up with the Chargers to take McCarthy in their recent mock, but with that happening a pick earlier, the Chargers take the best LT in the class.

6: New York Giants - Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Giants are likely to pick a wide receiver here, with Malik Nabers being a popular selection. In our mock, Harrison is still available, and we rank him just ahead of Nabers.

7: Tennessee Titans - Malik Nabers

With Alt off the board, the Titans choose to take Nabers, who they could have ranked ahead of the next best left tackle prospect.

8: Denver Broncos - Michael Penix Jr.

The Broncos desperately need a QB, and they feel they can no longer wait, trading up four spots with the Falcons to select Penix at eight. The Falcons get the Broncos’ 12th overall pick, their third-rounder and one of their fifths.

9: Chicago Bears - Dallas Turner

Turner is mocked by many (CBS Sports, USA Today, and ESPN) to the Falcons at eight, but with Atlanta trading out of that pick, he falls to the Bears who add the best pass rusher in the draft.

10: New York Jets - Troy Fautanu

It has to be an offensive lineman with this pick, it’s just who that remains the question. Fautanu can operate at tackle or guard, giving the Jets great flexibility here. As Field Yates writes for ESPN, “I wound up landing on Fautanu because of his versatility,” having also mocked him to the Jets.

11: Arizona Cardinals - Rome Odunze

Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz describes Odunze as an “alpha target capable of consistently securing jump balls,” which we feel is both accurate and something the Cardinals haven’t had since Deandre Hopkins in 2020.

12: Atlanta Falcons - Jared Verse

The Falcons would welcome this scenario with open arms, trading back and still having arguably the best EDGE defender in the draft fall to them is a masterful playing of the draft board.

13: Las Vegas Raiders - Quinyon Mitchell

The Raiders are getting mocked a cornerback in most drafts you see, it is just whether it’s Terrion Arnold or Mitchell. Mel Kiper says he has Mitchell as his top-ranked corner, which is just enough to sway us as we struggle to split them.

14: New Orleans Saints - JC Latham

The Saints need offensive line help, as Middlehurst-Schwartz writes, “New Orleans needs to prioritize the position given the protection problems,” and Latham can certainly help with that.

15: Indianapolis Colts - Cooper DeJean

The Colts’ biggest need is cornerback, per Mel Kiper, and for some DeJean is the next best available.

16: Seattle Seahawks - Olumuyiwa Fashanu

The fifth offensive lineman taken, Fashanu falls to 16, which is somewhat of a slip for a possible top-10 selection. For us, he needs some time in the NFL to get used to the physicality, which is why he has fallen to 16.
