Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso kicked out of Olympic village for 'wearing skimpy clothing'
Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso has been removed from the Olympic village after accusations of “inappropriate conduct” were levelled at her.
According to reports by The Daily Mail, Alonso was, “socializing and wearing skimpy clothing,” which created an, “inappropriate atmosphere”.
Alonso failed to qualify beyond the heats of the 100m butterfly competition, leaving her with plenty of time to kill in the Olympic village.

The Paraguayan Olympic chief released a confusing statement on the issue, “Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay. We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes' Village.” Was she instructed to leave, or did she choose to?

Beyond her other behaviors, Alonso has been accused of hanging out with other athletes, from her nation and others, who were still competing at the Games, creating a difficult atmosphere for high performance.

Alonso claimed, “I just wanted to clarify that I was never kicked out or expelled from anywhere, please stop spreading false information,” to her nearly 600,000 Instagram followers having posted a photo of her drinking a cocktail in a luxury hotel in Paris.

The butterfly swimmer claimed, “I don't want to make any statement but I'm not going to let lies affect me either,” in a follow-up post, continuing to muddy the waters around what actually happened.

Alonso seemingly saw the Olympics as a content creation opportunity, posting photos of herself in various locations around Paris wearing her own choice of clothing rather than team-provided gear.

According to The Daily Mail, Alonso also enjoyed watching the tennis at Roland Garros, having been seen watching Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz in action.

The Paraguayan, who is based in Dallas, Texas, per her Instagram, has now returned home having spent time at the Hotel Pastel, per The Sun.
