Teammate in shock

Recently signed defensive end Jonathan Greenard also took to social media to express his shock at Jackson's passing, writing, "Naaaah not lil Khyree," with fans offering sympathy and support for Vikings players in the replies to Greenard's post.

Collided with two other vehicles

The accident took place early on 6 July in Prince George's County, Maryland, when Jackson's car collided with two other vehicles, according to TMZ.

In the passenger seat

The NFL player, a fourth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, was in the passenger seat of a Dodger Charger when the vehicle was hit by an Infiniti Q50 just after 3 a.m., according to Maryland State Police.

Three vehicles involved

The Infinity Q50 wanted to change lanes, but was travelling at such a high speed that it hit Jackson's Dodge Charger and a Chevrolet Impala, that was passing by.

Hitting several trees

The Dodger was thrown off the right side of the road and did not stop until it hit several trees.

Two more friends died

Jackson was traveling with Isaiah Hazel (23) and Anthony Lytton (24), who were both killed in the accident. Lytton was taken to hospital, where he passed away, per TMZ.

The person responsible is arrested

The driver of the Chevrolet Impala was uninjured in the accident, but the driver of the Infiniti Q50 was arrested because alcohol may have influenced her driving, according to the Maryland State Police.

A future star

The Minnesota Vikings are shocked, with Jackson looking ready to battle for the team's starting cornerback spot this season.

A good player and an even better man

"Khyree had an extremely bright future ahead of him as a player, and it was clear he was dedicated to being a tremendous person who made a positive difference in people's lives," a Vikings statement read.
