Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya is the latest footballer to have a hair transplant, teaming up with specialists Insparya to achieve a thicker head of hair.

With the Arsenal goalkeeper becoming the latest footballer to brave a hair transplant, which famous footballers have done the same over the years?

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is the footballer who made hair transplants famous, deciding to have the transplant in 2011 after a period of going bald. He famously shared a tweet saying: "Just to confirm to all my followers, I have had a hair transplant."

According to the Hair Palace website, Rooney continued to repeat the procedure during his career and reportedly paid £30,000 ($38,522, €35,526)  for each of the procedures.

Global icon David Beckham has sported many different hairstyles and fashion choices during his legendary football career. In 2011, Beckham underwent a hair transplant after years of thinning and receding hair.

Since retiring from football in 2012, Beckham has stayed in the public spotlight and is still in the footballing world, owning MLS team Inter Miami. The English legend now has a thicker head of hair for all his business and media duties.

David Silva was a magician on the pitch for Manchester City and Spain, and was regularly in the spotlight for his dazzling performances in England. Now, Silva's impressive hair is in the spotlight after years of receding hair.

Just like Wayne Rooney, Silva had a follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedure, a technique that extracts individual donor hairs from the back and sides of the head and transplants them to the crown and front of the head.

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had an illustrious playing career with Juventus, Lecce, and the Italian national team. It was at Juventus where his hair started to recede, according to the Wimpole Clinic website.

As a manager, Conte has sported a full head of hair for his whole career after undergoing a full hair transplant in his native Italy in the early 2000s. Conte is one of the first notable footballers to have it done.

Former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane opted to have a hair transplant after he started to lose his hair because of genetic factors and the stress of football.

Mane, who currently plays in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr, had the FUE procedure because it typically has a short recovery time and a high success rate.
