Pep swings the axe as Man City search for expensive Ederson replacement
According to reported by The Daily Express, Man City's treble-winning goal keeper Ederson looks set to leave the club following discussions with Saudi Pro League team Al-Ittihad.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly singled out Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint Germain as his preferred replacement, with City readying a move, per Fichajes.
The Daily Express has reported City have already "approached" Donnarumma about a move, to sound out if there is any interest from the giant Italian.

Fichajes has suggested any move will be difficult to repeat, given PSG’s reluctance to sell one of their best players.
Per Ben Jacobs, who works for GiveMeSport, Donnarumma is not unhappy at PSG but could be convinced of a move to City as he dreams of playing in the Premier League.
Another hurdle for City to overcome is Donnarumma’s ongoing contract talks with his current club, a move which would muddy the waters of any possible City move.
The Italian shot-stopper currently has two years left on his deal, per Football Italia, meaning the Cityzens will need to pay through the roof to secure his service.
Last year, City were rumoured to have rejected a swap deal that included Donnarumma and Marco Verratti in exchange for Bernardo Silva, per The Daily Express.
City were supposedly interested in the deal, but would have preferred cash plus wunderkind Warren Zaire-Emery for Silva, rejecting any notion of a deal including now-target Donnarumma.
Ederson has been a stalwart of Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering city side in recent years, meaning any move would be a significant change. Would you do this deal if you were in charge of Manchester City?
