According to fiba.basketball.com, Meesseman said: "I love writing history, whether it would be with the team or now it's with the stats."
"I didn't really care about going back on the court but seeing the team – how happy they were for me; how enthusiastic we are for that – it's just amazing to witness and be part of it."
After leading Belgium to a comfortable quarter-final win against Serbia, Meesseman led Belgium to their maiden final.
In the semi-finals of the EuroBasket competition, Belgium faced a world number six France team in a closely fought contest.

Emma Meesseman led her team to victory with 24 points and eight rebounds, while her teammate Kyara Linskens contributed 18 points.
Her impressive performances didn't go unnoticed, securing herself the TISSOT MVP award, averaging 21.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 4.3 steals across the tournament.
