Max Verstappen and 'Checo' Perez excited about 'aggressive' new Red Bull car

Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 World Champion, was present at Milton Keynes for the Red Bull 2024 car launch. Verstappen starts the year as a clear favorite and will look to mimic last year's incredible performance. According to SkySports, the Dutch driver praised the team's "bold" and "aggressive" approach to the new RB20.

So what is new with the RB20? What has Red Bull changed or improved? The Race journalist Scott Mitchell analyzed the differences, claiming the RB20 "has a surprising resemblance to Mercedes".

The rear and sidepod inlet shape is very similar to the 2023 Mercedes concept, including the Mercedes-style shoulders on the engine cover.

The RB20 design also incorporates the 'underbite' style inlet. Similar letterbox-shaped lengths to the RB19 model but with the lower part of the inlet extended forward. Overall, the car looks broader and more 'aggressive'.

According to Scott Mitchell, the Dutch driver was asked about the Mercedes-style engine cover and the overall aesthetic of the car, and replied: "I would still call it a Red Bull-style. But I know what you mean."

Team-mate Sergio Perez was also present during the launch and was asked about the RB20's resemblance to the Mercedes model in 2023, to which he responded: "Yes! A bit!"

Both drivers seem ook eager to get the RB20 on the tarmac. Morale is high at the Red Bull garage and many think they will have another historic season; perhaps another 21 victories in 22 races as they saw in 2023.

Christian Horner was also present during the launch amid the ongoing investigation. The Red Bull team principal wanted to be present in the build-up to Red Bull's title defense, but his presence was overshadowed by allegations of inappropriate behavior.

Horner spoke to media for the first time since the F1 team's Austrian parent company confirmed an independent investigation into the allegations.

The Red Bull team principle took the chance to deny the allegations once again and insist it was "business as usual" at Red Bull. Horner also agreed with the driver's statements regarding the new car, everyone is ready for the new season!

"You can never stand still in this business and of course, our opposition have got a lot of motivation to go and beat us," Honer told  SkySports.
