Mock Draft 13.0 picks 1-16: Lucky for some!
The 2024 NFL Draft is almost here, after months of prep-work, hours of film-grinding, and presumably countless arguments, teams across the NFL are almost ready to make their decisions. Let’s take a look at how it could go…
Williams may not be the conventional quarterback prospect, with reports of a trip to Japan interrupting his pre-draft prep. He is, however, the best QB in this class and has the potential to be elite in the NFL, so this is a no-brainer.
As we have written before, we aren’t convinced by Daniels, but when both NFL Network and CBS Sports have him going to Washington, there must be something to it.

Chad Reuter for NFL media compares Maye to Josh Allen due to their “inconsistencies” in college. We get where he’s coming from, but Maye is a far more polished prospect than Allen was back in 2018. Whether he develops into the level of player Allen is, is a completely different question.
The Cardinals already have two first round picks this year, so don’t need to trade back unless they get a king’s ransom in return. Ultimately, we think they stay put and take the best receiver in the class.
With the Cardinals not budging, the Vikings know they need to jump ahead of the Giants to secure McCarthy. If you don’t believe McCarthy could go this high, Pro Football Focus has him going at two to Washington!
The board didn’t fall New York’s way this time round, leaving them wanting in the QB department yet again. They do exit round one with a prospect PFF describe as “an elite No. 1 receiver.”
“Alt's strength, size, technique and athleticism solidifies the position [LT] for at least the next five years,” as Chad Reuter writes. He’s the best tackle prospect in the draft, and the Titans desperately need a tackle.
The Chargers use their newly acquired 11th overall pick plus the 69th selection to move up to eight and select the exciting Odunze.
The Falcons miss out on the oft-mocked Turner as they trade back. The Bears don’t hesitate and grab the potentially elite pass rusher.

JC Latham may be the sensible pick, but general manager Joe Douglas can’t afford to be sensible in this draft. He needs to select instant-impact players, which Bowers certainly could be.
The Falcons desperately need pass rush help and Verse is the best option left. Atlanta should be happy with this haul, adding an exciting EDGE and an early third round pick.
We have no idea what the Broncos’ plan at QB is, but taking any of the available options at 12 would be a huge risk. Instead, they take Arnold, who The Ringer described as “an instinctive, ball-hawking corner.”
Tyler Sullivan for CBS Sports has the Raiders trading up to 10 to select Penix, in our mock, we don’t see them needing to trade up to get their guy. As we mentioned, this is a huge risk, but what else are they going to do?
The Saints could look at corner here if they think Quinyon Mitchell is worth the pick, but with Latham still on the board, they jump at the chance to get a player with his incredible profile.
Mitchell is the best corner in the draft per many draft experts, and the Colts are in need of some secondary help. Given the options available in this mock, they could look at offensive line help to bolster them for the long haul, despite their third ranked o-line per PFF.
The Seahawks could go in a few different directions here, but as PFF points out, “The Seahawks have a glaring need in the middle of the offensive line.” Fautanu is a tackle but could easily slide inside and provides long-term solidity on the outside if needed.
