The NBA mid-season trade deadline is the last chance for teams to make key acquisitions to pursue whatever they are trying to achieve this season.

This year's deadline was relatively quiet in comparison to more recent ones, which have seen Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving moved in the past.

Nevertheless, teams at both ends of the spectrum have made important changes that could have an impact on the final standings in June.

The New York Knicks are the winners of the 2024 NBA Trade deadline, filling out their roster with more offensive firepower and role players to go into the playoffs.

The Knicks acquired Detroit's Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks without giving up first-round picks or key pieces in the rotation. The much-needed extra outside shooting and rotation could propel the Knicks to potential title challengers.

Team chemistry has been the biggest talking point in Dallas this season, with Grant Williams causing issues and controversy with franchise guy Luka Doncic.

The Mavericks had to get Williams out of the building, and they did, sending him to Charlotte for forward PJ Washington and also adding center depth by acquiring Washington's Daniel Gafford. Two players perfect next to Doncic and Irving.

The Charlotte Hornets have had a terrible season, and the lack of experience, talent, and depth of the roster has contributed to that downfall. However, on the deadline, the Hornets made some swift moves to create more depth.

The Hornets got rid of injury-stricken Gordon Haywood and PJ Washington, which has helped them acquire Grant Williams, Seth Curry, Davis Bertans, Tre Mann, and Vasiliji Micic. With LaMelo Ball, the Hornets can kick on and build for next season.

The Boston Celtics are already sitting pretty at the top of the Eastern Conference, but they have found a player in Xavier Tillman – a defensive presence – who can plug into the second unit to help the aging (37) Al Horford.

Getting Tillman for just two-second round picks in an Eastern Conference with Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, and Julius Randle, the Celtics have completed a team built for beating anyone.

It was apparent in Toronto that the Raptors needed to move away from Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, and they did, with Dennis Schroder and three others also leaving Canada.

The Raptors acquired Knicks star man RJ Barrett in the last month, and on the deadline, they brought in Kelly Olynyk, Ochai Agbaji, two top-four protected first-round picks, and two second-round picks. With their young core and new picks, Toronto will be dangerous in the future.
