The pressure is on

The 'Three Lions' got off to a good start at the Euro 2024, securing their first three points against Serbia, but have once again struggled to put on a convincing performance against Denmark (1-1). Southgate's team still leads Group C, but the British coach is under some pressure to secure better performances on the pitch.

Questionable preformances

The English side was considered a clear favourite to win the Euros, but recent performances suggest Southgate's formula needs some tweaking.

Missed a chance

The 'Three Lions' were booed by their fans after the lacklustre performance against Denmark. England missed out on automatically qualifying for the knockout stages.

Some look sharp

Nevertheless, Jude Belling and Harry Kane have proven to be the leaders of the team, and their commitment is visible on the pitch. Their performances are some of the few positive takeaways of the tournament so far, however, the team as a whole needs to sharpen up.

Needs to improve

Declan Rice had a fantastic season over at Arsenal, but he is struggling to keep his footing against Denmark. He scored 7 goals and gave 10 assists this season, according to Transfermarkt, so fans expect more from the English midfielder at Euro 2024.

Fans are frustrated

However, fans are voicing out their frustration with Southgate's football, as the team struggles to produce any entertaining play. "Gareth Southgate is a football terrorist," shared a fan on X.

A 'poor man's' Moyes

The 'Three Lions' is arguably one of the teams with the most depth and talent on the bench, however, it seems Southgate can't find the secret formula. "Gareth Southgate is a 'poor man's' Moyes... There are obvious things for Gareth to tweak, that plan isn't working," writes Football365.

Boring?

"England has become one of the most boring sides in Europe. Playing like the Italy of the past, minus the trophies," shared a fan according to The Sun.

Disappointing

Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett summed up many England fans' feelings after a disappointing second half, saying: "Have you ever seen England this disorientated in recent tournaments?"
