An early look

For the fans of some NFL teams, it’s probably time to turn your attention to April 24, 2025 and the 2025 NFL draft. For others, you may still be optimistic about your team’s chances this season, but it’s always fun to take a look at who you could be targeting next year anyway! Draft order based on Super Bowl odds at the time of writing.

1: New England Patriots - Travis Hunter

Hunter could be selected as a wide receiver, a cornerback, or as a two-way player. Whatever he chooses to do at the next level, he’ll be elite at. The Pats need an injection of talent and could be looking at the offensive line, but Hunter is too good to pass up.

2: Carolina Panthers - Jalen Milroe

We expect Milroe to be a top-five selection come draft night, even if he could be seen as a risky selection. The Panthers need to replace Bryce Young so going back to the Alabama well could be risking more failure, but they need to do something.

3: Tennessee Titans - Shedeur Sanders

Two Colorado Buffalos in the top three is a turn-up for the books, but Sanders’ talent is too great to ignore, even if there’s potentially some baggage that comes along with it. Like the Panthers, the Titans will need to move on from their 2023 draft selection, and they have the chance to add a QB with elite traits.

4: Las Vegas Raiders - Cam Ward

Mike Renner describes Cam Ward as not, “a finished product by any means, but he oozes talent every single week.” And we know what he means. When we watch QBs, one of the main traits we look for is whether they seem rushed in the pocket, Ward almost never does, which leads us to believe he can make the step up to the NFL.

5: Cleveland Browns - Will Johnson

The Browns could also be in the market for a quarterback at this selection, but with the top options off the board, they take the incredibly talented Will Johnson from Michigan. Johnson is a big, strong, cornerback with great ball skills who can add to an already talented secondary.

6: Los Angeles Rams - Will Campbell

The Rams may be another team looking at QBs come April, but we don’t see any that are worthy of a selection at this point. Instead, they go with the best offensive lineman in the draft, left tackle Will Campbell.

7: New York Giants - Tetairoa McMillan

QB could be on the Giants' mind, too, but instead, they add our wide receiver one to Malik Nabers to create matchup nightmares for opposing secondaries. Admit it, this would be fun to watch.

8: Jacksonville Jaguars - Kelvin Banks Jr.

Banks could emerge as the top offensive tackle by the time the draft rolls around, for now, he’s our number two but will make a big impact in Duval County. The Jags’ OL isn’t awful, but Banks is an upgrade. They could also look at wide receiver with this pick.

9: Denver Broncos - Abdul Carter

Carter is described as having a “tailor-made physical skillset to rush the passer,” by Mike Renner, and pretty much every team in the NFL would want him. The Broncos are another team that could be looking at receiver help with this selection.

10: Miami Dolphins - Mason Graham

Graham should replace the production the Dolphins lost when Christian Wilkins signed with the Raiders. He’s stout against the run and can push the pocket in the passing game when required, making him a must-pick prospect if he falls to 10.

11: Indianapolis Colts - Luther Burden III

Just surround Anthony Richardson with weapons and hope for the best, that’s basically our philosophy when it comes to the Colts. Will it work? We’re not sure, but it’s not going to be boring.

12: Arizona Cardinals - JT Tuimoloau

JT Tuimoloau has three sacks so far in 2024, per ESPN, and will be hoping to end the season with close to double digits. If he does, he’ll be seen as one of the best edge rushers in the class and the Cardinals will be delighted to select him with the 12th overall pick.

13: Los Angeles Chargers - Nic Scourton

Scourton is huge, standing at 6’4”, 285lbs, and that’s the sort of size Jim Harbaugh will be enticed by. Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa are both aging, so adding some young, possibly elite talent to their group of pass-rushers makes sense.

14: Chicago Bears - Emery Jones Jr.

The second LSU offensive tackle taken in the top 15, Jones has been a right tackle in college, so maybe isn’t a great fit given the Bears have Darnell Wright on that side. We just see Jones as the next-best OT on the board, so take the talented player and figure it out from there.

15: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Benjamin Morrison

The Bucs roster is full of talented players, but they could do with another talented corner back to fill out their roster. Zyon McCollum has looked solid so far, but there is room for an upgrade on the other side of the defense.

16: Seattle Seahawks - Mykel Williams

The Seahawks currently sit 8th in the NFL with 17 sacks per ESPN but they don’t have an elite edge rusher to put them among the best pass-rushing teams in football. Enter Mykel Williams whose size and length make him almost unguardable at times.
