Benfica's Óscar Cardozo was the first UEFA Europa League top scorer, netting nine goals in 12 games and helping the Portuguese side reach the quarter-finals, where they lost to Liverpool.

Radamel Falcao's record-breaking 18 goals in the 2010/11 campaign is the highest number of goals since the UEFA Cup started in 1971. He scored three hat-tricks on Porto's Road to the final and scored the only goal in the final to help Porto beat Braga. Legendary campaign.
The following season, Falcao joined Atlético Madrid and showcased how deadly he was in the Europa League again. He scored 12 goals in 15 games, including two in the final as Atlético Madrid beat Athletic Bilbao. It was Falcao's second Europa League title in as many seasons.

Zenit's Giuliano and Roma's Edin Džeko finished top of the scoring standings in 2017 with eight goals. Giuliano and Džeko scored eight in eight for their teams, with the Bosnian scoring two hat-tricks.

Bilbao's Aduriz and Lazio's Ciro Immobile scored eight goals in the 2017/18 Europa League campaign. The big Spanish striker scored in five games in a row to help Bilbao reach the Last 16, while Immobile scored one hat-trick on the way to reaching the quarter-finals.
