How Alexandra Ianculescu used adult content to fund her Olympic dream

Alexandra Ianculescu is a Romanian-Canadian athlete, born October 21st, 1991. She immigrated with her family to Toronto in 2001, where she later began her professional career as a speed skater.

A hard start

Ianculescu joined the Canadian junior national speed skating team in 2011 and represented Canada in two junior championships. She excelled in 500m and 1000m races but struggled to shine within the Canadian Olympic team.

The Romanian Olympic team

In 2016, Alexandra was called up by the Romanian Olympic team to represent her country in long-track speed skating.

2018 Winter Olympics

During the 2018 Winter Olympics, she competed in the women's 500m race but failed to achieve any silverware. She finished 31st in the 500m race.

An alternate solution

After the 2018 Olympics, Ianculescu moved back to Europe where she fell in love with cycling. Due to the lack of financial support, Alexndra Ianculescu joined an adult content subscription service as an alternate solution in order to keep financing her athletic dreams!

Alexandra Ianculescu took a different path, some may label it as unconventional, however, creating adult content was her best option to fund her appearance at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The 31-year-old athlete has been a sensation in the explicit content industry ever since she joined the platform back in 2021. Her online profile named "speed_skater" currently has 33k monthly subscribers and 70k Instagram followers.

Why not?

"I like to post my photos and videos, so I decided to do a test for a month and then decide...but I have to say that the results have been extraordinary. I kept getting a lot of likes in my bikini photos, so I agreed to do it," shared Ianculescu in an Instagram post.

Constantly questioned

Many have questioned her motives and even labeled her as an ex-athlete who commodifies her body.

Still an athlete at heart!

Nevertheless, Alexandra has come out stating she made the account out of necessity, to pay rent, to survive, she still considers herself a professional athlete.
