In our opinion, trades remain an underutilized tool in the NFL. Given how much of a lottery the draft can be, using future picks to acquire proven players makes a ton of sense to us. With that being said, let’s take a look at 10 players who could be on the move this offseason, if the price is right…

Kyle Pitts

The Athletic’s Josh Kendall has poured some cold water on any Kyle Pitts trade rumors this week, suggesting his lack of performance and relatively cheap contract makes it an unlikely move. Still, we could see a world in which the Falcons address tight end in the draft, making Pitts expendable. He hasn’t shown much during his career, but getting something for him is better than nothing.

Maxx Crosby

It’s unlikely that Crosby moves, but given none of his current contract is guaranteed, per Spotrac, he will surely be looking for a new contract this offseason. That gives him some leverage, and given how bad the Raiders have been, and are set to be again in 2025, pastures new could look more and more enticing for the defensive end.

Matthew Stafford

Something that could keep Maxx Crosby in the Sin City is the Raiders bringing in a top-tier quarterback. Matthew Stafford could be that guy, at least according to Las Vegas Review-Journal, who have suggested Raiders part-owner Tom Brady has reached out to Stafford about a move. Stafford is good enough to turn any team into a playoff contender.

Cooper Kupp

This is cheating a little bit, as the Rams have made their desire to move on from Kupp public after placing him on the trade block. Kupp’s best years are behind him, there’s no doubting that, but given how little he would cost in a trade, it is worth a shot for the myriad teams that lack reliable pass catchers.

Davante Adams

In a few year’s time, the 2024 Jets may be forgotten about, which we think is a travesty given quite how dysfunctional they were. Trading for Davante Adams mid-season proved pointless as they couldn’t win games anyway. Now, Adams will surely be looking to move on again, given Aaron Rodgers won’t be returning. Like Kupp, he is past his prime, but he’s still better than a lot of receivers out there.

Tee Higgins

We don’t know for sure what’s happening with Tee Higgins given the rumors that the Bengals may look to franchise tag Higgins if they can’t agree to an extension. In that scenario, Higgins may still be looking for something longer term, which could force the Bengals into a trade.

Micah Parsons

This is incredibly unlikely, as the Cowboys will be doing everything they can to ensure Parsons stays in the building. Still, never say never with the Cowboys. Parsons is entering the final year of his rookie contract and Adam Schefter has reported Dallas isn’t rushing to sign their star EDGE. Could they look to capitalize and at least get a return for him?

Jaire Alexander

The Jaire Alexander situation in Green Bay looks like it could be getting messy after general manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters, “we’ll see” in response to a question regarding the CB’s future, per SB Nation. Alexander has struggled to stay healthy in recent seasons and has a cap hit of $29.4 million as it stands, per Over The Cap. He could be more valuable to a team not called the Packers.

Kenny Pickett

Kenny Pickett isn’t the most exciting trade option out there, but given Tanner McKee’s rise in Philadelphia, Pickett could be expendable. The Eagles’ backup played well during his brief spell under center, making him a possible trade target for a team looking for a veteran quarterback, perhaps to help with a rookie’s transition to the NFL.

Myles Garrett

The name you have all been waiting for, it’s Myles Garrett. Possibly the best defensive player in the NFL over the past few seasons, Garrett has formally requested a trade, as he wants to play for a contender. ESPN has reported the Eagles will do everything they can to acquire Garrett, which would be worrisome for the rest of the NFL. Keep an eye out for Washington and Buffalo, too.
