This is the story of Rayssa Leal, Brazil's young prodigy who emerged from social media platforms to become one of the most captivating skaters in the industry!

From Brazil to the world

Born on January 4, 2009, in the heart of Imperatriz, Maranhão, Brazil, young Rayssa began skateboarding at six. She was very active growing up, involving herself in multiple sports.

Giant steps

She grew up in a country where sports like football and volleyball dominate the scene, nevertheless, she found a passion on her board. A a pioneer in many ways, following the footsteps of Leticia Bufoni.

"Skate Fairy"

Her promising talent was displayed at a very early age, and she would stand out amongst male skaters too. She was nicknamed "Fadinha do Skate" which translates to the "Skate Fairy"!

Viral sensation

A video went viral in 2015 when Leal managed to land a perfect heelflip down a set of stairs while putting on a blue tutu!

First win

Leal claimed her first championship victory at the age of 11. She became the youngest skater to ever win the female Street League Skateboarding final. She defeated Pamela Rosa, who was number 1 at the time, in a thrilling final heat.

One of the best

The Skate Fairy exploded on social platforms but there is more to Leal than just a viral video, she is a world-class athelete who now has the Paris 2024 Olympics in sight!

X Games

Leal also participated twice in the 2019 X Games and finished in fourth place. She didn't stop there, she finished third in the 2019 WST Rome. Leticia Bufoni went on to win 1st place and bring back two medals to Brazil.

Breaking age barriers

Beyond her impressive competitive record, Leal has become a source of inspiration for young skateboarders worldwide. Breaking through age barriers, she proives that passion and dedication to a sport can propel even the youngest of talents.
