Impact of his son

With recent years of turmoil and injury, Tiger Woods has spent more time away from the golf course than any time in his life. However, his son Charlie has started to change that.

Will he play on the PGA again?

No one knows if Tiger will return to the PGA Tour, the tour that cemented his legacy as the greatest golfer in history, but his son may be ready to take the reins soon.

Preparing Charlie for the next level

Tiger gears up to take on his new indoor golf league next year, but the guidance he will provide for his son will become even more important as he prepares Charlie to surpass him in the sport.

Signs of change

The 14-year-old golf prodigy has already started showing signs that his current ability is better than Tiger's ability now, with Tiger admitting Charlie had outdriven him off the tee.

'Outdrove me'

According to golftweet.com, Colin Morikawa said: "Has Charlie beat you yet?" Tiger replied, "Not yet. He outdrove me the other day though." Morikawa added, "Shut up!"

12 years old

Evidence that Tiger has started to rub off on him began in 2021 when Charlie was 12. During the PNC Championship, Charlie and Tiger teamed up and finished second, thanks to 11 straight birdies.

Best round in 2022

Last year, there was more evidence Charlie had stepped up, having a best round of 68 at the Notah Begay III Junior National Golf Championship.

Medallist Tour

This year, Charlie has competed on the boys 13-18 Medallist Tour and recorded a scoring average of 76.67, leaving him ranked 71st out of 282 players. It's impressive to see, as he is one of the youngest on the tour.

Record score

In the last few months, Charlie Woods has stepped up his game to another level, beating his previous best score of 68 by landing a six-under 66 at the Last Chance Regional in September.

Doing something Tiger didn't!

Just this month, Charlie has achieved something Tiger never managed to, helping his high school team win the Florida State Championship, with Charlie coming 24th in a tournament of seniors.

‘How good Tiger was at 15’

One user on X said: "No offense to Charlie, he is a good junior golfer. He is a good junior golfer, but can you remember how good Tiger was at 15."

Matching the hype

With encouraging averages, career-low scores, and winning a State Championship, you can see the recent performances are starting to match the hype around Charlie Woods.

Getting to Tiger

For him to match or surpass Tiger, Charlie would have to have one of the most decorated sports careers in history.

Majors

Since turning professional in 1996, Tiger Woods has won 15 Major Championships, stemming over 20 years, and is tied for first in PGA Tour wins (82).

Can he do it?
