Happy Holidays

The NFL is more famous for games on Thanksgiving than over the December Holiday period but over the years there have still been some incredible games and moments that will live long in the memory.

Rodgers beats the Bears

Back in 2011, Aaron Rodgers was starting to hit the peak of his powers. He showcased all his skill in an absolute beatdown of the Chicago Bears who could do nothing to stop Rodgers and the Packers' offense. ARod threw for five TDs, setting a new record for TD passes on Christmas Day.

Dontari Poe tosses a tuddy

Dontari Poe was a freak athlete so to see him lining up as an auxiliary fullback on a goal-line play wasn’t too shocking. What came next certainly was as the 340 lbs nose-tackle took the handoff and threw a jump pass to the back of the endzone for a TD. A Christmas gift for football fans everywhere!

Jeff Garcia beats the ‘Boys

The Eagles' 2006 season seemed all but over when Donovan McNabb went down with an injury. Enter Jeff Garcia who rallied the team to four straight wins, including a Christmas day victory over arch-rivals, the Cowboys, and earning his team a playoff berth.

Steelers land a knockout blow

Steelers vs Ravens is one of the premier rivalries in sports, so to see the two AFC North team battle it out on Christmas Day back in 2016 was always set to be a must-watch game. The Steelers needed a last-second TD, caught by Antonio Brown, to get the win and end the Ravens’ playoff hopes.

Longest game in history

Way back in 1971, the Chiefs were taking on the Miami Dolphins in one of the inaugural NFL Christmas Day games. The game lasted a staggering 82 minutes and 40 seconds of game time and included two overtimes. The Dolphins emerged victorious winning with a 37-yard field goal that sent them to the AFC Championship Game.

Two 5-10 teams battle it out

These days the Cowboys are one of the best teams in the NFL with studs all over the field. Back in 2010 it was a little different as they sat 5-10 and faced the equally mediocre (bad) Arizona Cardinals, also 5-10. A back-and-forth battle commenced with multiple Arizona pick-sixes and an impressive Dallas comeback. The Cards eventually won with a 48-yard field goal for some truly festive drama.
