The Premier League returned last weekend after what felt like a long-anticipated return due to the chaos and transfers before the season.

It would be illogical to make sweeping statements after just one week, with teams still trying to implement new ideas with new teammates and coaches.

For some teams, it was business as usual to get the ball rolling, but for others, major work still needs to be done to get their season on the right track.

The opening weekend has indicated whether some preseason questions have been answered and if some teams still need to make changes.

Here are the biggest takeaways from week one of Premier League action, and it will start with the most recent game on Monday night.

Manchester United was extremely fortunate to defeat a downbeat Wolves side on Monday night, winning 1-0, but Wolves had over 20 shots in the game.

Newcastle looked better than ever as they dominated a strong Aston Villa side, winning 5-1, with Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes scoring debut goals.

Many of the other teams around Newcastle have spent significant amounts around their already talented squads, but Newcastle showed on Saturday that they will be right there at the top again.
