Dani Alves's alleged victim to take legal action after CCTV video leak

The woman who has accused Brazilian football player Dani Alves of an alleged sexual assault is considering taking legal action against a Catalan television program, 'El Circ' on 8TV as the program has broadcast images allegedly taken from the Sutton de Barcelona nightclub's security camera where the assault is said to have occurred.

In the images shown by the Spanish program, the complainant of Dani Alves is seen with her cousin moments before entering, according to what she told the authorities, into one of the toilets in the VIP area of the discotheque where the attack is said to have occurred.

As reported by the Spanish newspaper ABC, the young woman accused Dani Alves is now looking to take legal action against the program as it's caused "irreparable damage" to her.

In a statement sent to the outlet, the complainant's lawyer claims some images had "more than doubtful pixelation" that, in addition to harming the alleged victim, is of "reprehensible ethics."

The lawyers suggest that ABC could have both a civil and/or criminal case to answer for in light of the alleged identity breaches.

For its part, the program that has broadcast these images in Spain, 'El Circ', has not said anything about it and has, until now, made part of this video available through its Twitter account.

The images came to light last Wednesday, May 24 and, according to their presenter, Frank Blanco, they were part of an exclusive that had "the images that everyone is talking about" but which, according to the journalist stated live, " no one has seen" yet.

In them, Dani Alves is seen before committing the alleged assault for which the Brazilian soccer player is still in prison.

He has been detained since last January 2023 when, after the complaint was received, the judge imprisoned him without any bail option.

Despite the defense's attempts to get Alves out of jail, the judge rejected all the appeals and claimed the athlete, who was now based in Mexico, would have been a flight risk and should be detained until the trial.
