Miami Dolphins’ superstar corner facing surgery

It has been reported Miami Dolphins’ cornerback Jalen Ramsey has injured his knee during the team’s training camp.

Injured at the end of practice

Per reports on NFL.com, Ramsey was seen holding his knee after forcing an incompletion toward the end of Thursday’s practice session.

Out for a while

In a report for ESPN, Marcel Louis-Jacques has quoted one source claiming Ramsey will be out for “a few months”.

Worse than that

Ian Rapoport, NFL Network’s football insider, has conflicting reports on the length Ramsey will be out for, claiming he is set to miss the majority of the regular season, with the defensive back set to return in December.

Depends on the injury

With the nature of the injury not yet 100% confirmed, Ramsey is due for surgery on Friday, July 28th. Part of the surgery will be to determine exactly what Ramsey injured in his knee.

Meniscus or ligament?

Per reports by Ian Rapoport if the injury is a ligament strain, he could return in six-eight weeks, but if it is the meniscus that’s injured, Ramsey could be facing a longer spell on the sidelines.

ACL intact

Marcel Louis-Jacques for ESPN, has reported his sources have confirmed Ramsey’s Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is still intact. This is a good sign for the Dolphins as an ACL tear can see players sidelined for up to a year.

“Stronger than ever”

Ramsey himself sent a tweet confirming his injury, but reiterated his desire to be “back on that field stronger than ever… in due time!”

Huge blow

Jalen Ramsey was acquired by the Dolphins in an offseason trade with the Rams and is seen as a player who can drastically improve their defense and take the team to the next level.

Nervous wait

Dolphins’ fans will be nervously waiting for more news as Ramsey goes under the knife, with his recovery time playing a huge part in their expectations for the season.
