The final matchup is set for the UEFA Euro 2024 final, with England taking on Spain at the historic Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Road to Berlin

England is yet to win the European Championships, while Spain is attempting to win a record fourth European Cup. The path to Berlin has been challenging for both, so here is England and Spain's Road to Berlin!

England (Group Stage)

England just about scraped through as group winners in Group C of the tournament after a perfect start against Serbia, where Jude Bellingham scored the winner with a crashing header before half-time.

Scraping through

What followed after the Serbia win was unconvincing, drawing 1-1 with Denmark after Harry Kane put England in front and drawing 0-0 with Slovenia in the final group game. Gareth Southgate's men topped the group with five points.

Spain (Group Stage)

Spain, on the other hand, was exceptional, winning all three games and looking like the best team in the tournament. Spain started the tournament with a convincing 3-0 victory over Croatia, Alvaro Morata, Fabian Ruiz, and Dani Carvajal getting them off the mark.

Near perfect

After starting in perfect style, Luis de la Fuente's team ground out a hard-earned 1-0 win over reigning champions Italy thanks to a Riccardo Calafiori goal and finished the group stage off with a 1-0 victory over Albania after Ferran Torres' 13th-minute strike, LiveScore reports.

England (Last 16)

England's last 16 opponents, Slovakia, thought they had won a historic tie for their nation after Ivan Schranz scored in the 25th minute. However, England's star boy Jude Bellingham wrote the headlines, scoring an overhead kick in the 95th minute to rescue England. Harry Kane did the rest in extra-time, scoring the vital header to send England through.

Spain (Last 16)

For Spain, it was much more convincing in their last 16 game against Georgia. After going 1-0 down due to Robin Le Normand's own goal, Spain put on the burners, with Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo firing Spain through as 4-1 victors.

England (Quarterfinals)

It's become normal for England to make hard work of every game at this tournament, and they had to find a way to win after going 1-0 down to Breel Embolo's second-half strike. Bukayo Saka scored five minutes after Embolo, and the game went to penalties. Jordan Pickford saved Manuel Akanji's penalty, and England scored all five of theirs to book a place in the final four.

Spain (Quarterfinals)

The blockbuster tie of the competition was Spain against hosts Germany, and the Spanish rode their luck to win the game in the 119th minute thanks to Mikel Merino's header. Florian Wirtz cancelled out Dani Olmo's goal in the 89th minute, but it wasn't enough.

England (Semifinals)

Again, in the semifinal against the Netherlands, England went 1-0 down due to Xavi Simons' spectacular strike, but the 'Three Lions' roared back. Firstly, due to Harry Kane's penalty after a dubious referee decision, and then Ollie Watkins firing in a 91st-minute winner to send them to Berlin.

Spain (Semifinals)

Spain took on Kylian Mbappe's France in the semifinal, and it was first blood to the French after Randal Kolo Muani's 9th-minute header. Spain bounced back in style, with 16-year-old Lamine Yamal scoring a wonder goal into the top corner, and four minutes later, Dani Olmo's magical feet and finish to book a spot in Berlin.

Who will win?

Spain has been exceptional all tournament and beaten some of the best teams in the world, but England doesn't know how to lie down and accept defeat. It will be a close game like most finals, but Spain has the edge over their opponents. Prediction - 2-1 Spain after extra time.
