Former star footballer Abdelaziz Barrada dies at 35 years of age
Sad news from the world of football, as former Moroccan player Abdelaziz Barrada has died of a heart attack at the age of 35.
French media such as ‘Le 360 Sport’ have confirmed the death of the very talented Moroccan, who had retired in 2021.
Barrada was born in Provins (1989), 80 kilometres from Paris. He played for PSG's B team, before making the leap to Spanish side Getafe.

At Getafe, he played the most games of his career, almost 100 games for the B and first team combined.
The midfielder also played for Al-Jazira, Olympique Marseille, Al-Nasr and Gimnástic de Tarragona among others. He also represented Morocco on 28 occasions, with whom he played in the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
He played his last official season (2020/21) in the French fourth division with US Lusitanos Saint-Maur, until he had to retire due to the same heart problems that eventually cost him his life.
Achraf Hakimi, captain and benchmark player for Morocco and PSG, was a fan of Barrada in his early football days, which gives you an idea of Barrada's reputation as a player.

Barrada was currently living in Paris, where he worked for RMC Sports and BeIN Sport, commentating and broadcasting matches.
Olympique Marseille, where Barrada spent two seasons, have paid tribute to the player with a heartfelt tribute on social media.

Getafe also said goodbye to their former player, recalling that Barrada played 66 games and scored four goals in the two seasons he played for the club in La Liga.
