Kane leading England to another final

Harry Kane and England have reached another Euros final, with the Three Lions taking on Spain on Sunday, 14 July. England beat the Netherlands in the semi-finals after eliminating Switzerland on penalties in the quarter-finals.

The penalty takers

Captain Harry Kane is England's usual penalty taker, but he came off in the second half of extra-time against the Swiss. Instead, Cole Palmer, Ivan Toney, Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, and Trent Alexander-Arnold stepped up confidently to send England through.

Coming off injured

Kane would have surely taken one had his momentum not taken him into the England bench in the 109th minute, but is that true?

"I'm fine, I'm just tired"

According to the GOAL website, Kane said: "I'm fine, I was just tired. I had a bit of a cramp there. I tripped over the water bottles and got cramps in both calves. The boss made a quick decision obviously with [Ivan], a proven penalty taker. He came on and did the job."

Was he injured?

Kane's post-game comments suggest the England skipper wasn't injured like England fans feared he was, and instead, Southgate decided to bring on a 'proven penalty taker' to replace Kane.

"He didn't want to take one"

To add more fuel to the fire, winning penalty taker Alexander-Arnold was overheard saying "he didn't want to take one" in a video that has gone viral on social media.

Chickening out?

Kane coming off in the second half of extra time with cramps and tiredness has led some England fans to believe Kane chickened out of taking a penalty.

"Probably Kane"

The Daily Mail reported one England fan said: "Kane and Foden hooked before pens, and Chelsea fans are screaming Rice in the comments." Another said: "Probably Kane because he's been shocking for most of the tournament."

Not a good look

England's record top goalscorer hasn't set the tournament alight like England fans hoped, scoring three goals so far. As captain of the team, it's not a good look if Kane wanted to come off in England's desperate time of need in a penalty shootout.

Can he become a hero?

The Three Lions face Spain in the final on the 14th of July, and Kane still has the chance to become a hero if he can produce his magic against La Roja. Is it coming home?
