Luka Doncic set to sign the biggest contract in NBA history

If Doncic seals the deal, he would become the highest-paid player in the history of the NBA, passing league legends such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James.

Is this contract extension justifiable? Certainly, the Dallas Point guard has broken both team and league records, placing him as the main franchise player.

Doncic has already activated a series of clauses in his contract after playing 65 games in the 2023/24 season. He has earned his stars on the court.

Furthermore, he is currently the NBA's leading scorer, averaging 33.9 points a game. He is the real deal.

These legendary numbers have led him to fight for the regular season MVP, further activating lucrative clauses in his contract.

In that case, why wait until 2025 and not in the summer of 2024? Because the last requirement to access that crazy contract is to have spent at least seven seasons in the NBA and this is Luka Doncic's sixth.
