Real Madrid for 70 million a year

According to Bild, the French striker is demanding an annual sum of €70m (£59.9m, $75.8m) until 2029!

Big investment

Mbappé is eyeing some astronomical numbers! The French striker will earn €350m (£299m, $379.6m) over five years, in addition to the €125m (£106m, $135.5m) transfer bonus upon arriving as a free agent. Real Madrid would spend a whooping €475m (£406m, $515m) total!

Real Madrid stick to 35 million

But as in any good negotiation, we are not talking about something unilateral. Real Madrid also has something to say and, according to Bild, Real Madrid is willing to offer €35m (£29.9m, $37.8m) gross salary, exactly half of the players' demands.

200 million euros in bonuses and commissions

According to Blind, Kylian Mbappé and his mother/agent, Fayza Lamari, pocket around €200m (£171m, $216.9m) a year, including bonuses and commissions.

Stratospheric salary at PSG

French newspaper L'Equpie revealed back in March 2023, that Mbappé had earned €6 million (£5.m, $6.5m) a month with PSG. Jaw-dropping numbers, placing the French striker as one of the best-paid athletes in the world with €72m (£61m, $78m) salary! Naturally, Real Madrid will not match this salary due to its strict transfer-wage policy.

The last push?

The Mbappé-Real Madrid soap opera has taken multiple twists and turns since 2017. Anything and everything is possible when it comes to recruiting the unpredictable French striker. Nevertheless, Mbappé is now determined to change scenery, whether to Real Madrid or another giant European club that can afford his stratospheric wages.

'At some point I will have to leave my club'

During an interview for GQ magazine, Mbappé hinted at the possibility of leaving. "At some point, I will have to leave my club. I am not afraid of change. I only think about continuing my career." and follow my own path."

A non-aggression pact with Al Khelaïfi?

Following Kylian Mbappé's declarations, there is much talk surrounding Nasser Al Khelaïfi and their mutual relationship. Many media outlets point out how the two struck a 'non-aggression pack', where the French striker's departure would not jeopardize the team's finances.

'All parties are protected'

"I have not made a decision yet. But we have an agreement with the president that means that all parties are protected. My future is not an internal matter. We have to think about the team," said Mbappé on January 3 after becoming champion of the French Super Cup.

The clock keeps running

"In 2022, I didn't know my decision until May. If I knew what I wanted to do, I shouldn't let the decision drag on. It wouldn't make any sense. Nobody talks about my situation at the club, nobody is interested," added the Frenchman.

Deep connection with Real Madrid

Real Madrid's interest in Kylian Mbappé dates back to 2012 when the French player was only 12 years old. The young footballer traveled to Spain to conduct a series of trials with Real Madrid. It was on that day, that Mbappé fell in love with 'Los Blancos'.

His first (failed) transfer attempt

Real Madrid's first attempt to sign the French star occurred in the 2017 summer transfer window, while he played for Monaco Nevertheless, 18-year-old Mbappé, chose to return to his hometown to sign for PSG. A sweet deal that resulted in a €180m (£154m, $195.2) transfer.

Too early to go to Real Madrid

Monaco's former vice president, Vadim Vasilyev revealed how Mbappé considered it a premature move. "He told me: Vadim, deep down, I feel that it is too soon. I have only played one year in my country, I am "I'm a Parisian and I don't want to leave my country like this. I want to become a great footballer. Madrid will have to wait," Vasilyev said on TF1 Telefoot.

The surreal 2022 transfer attempt

The saga developed into a giant transfer soap opera between one of the world's most acclaimed football stars and arguably one of the greatest football clubs in the history of the sport. Many football fans around the world took his 2022 transfer rumor for granted and assumed the French star would play at the Bernabeu. Nevertheless, it all ended with a contract renewal following the immense pressure coming from the French government and Qatari interests.

Complicated relationship

Florentino Pérez and the club were not too happy with the outcome of the 2022 drama. The Real Madrid president was also caught by local television saying "this is not my Mbappé." There is a strange tension between both parties, yet they both can't ignore each other's presence.

'No' to PSG

The French striker refused to sign his contract extension back in 2023 and faced the consequences. The Parisian club excluded him from the Asia summer tour, leaving him behind.

What will be next?

We seem to be in the final season of the Mbappé-Real Madrid drama, and there seems to be an end in sight. Nevertheless, we will have to wait until the 2024 summer transfer window to know Mbappé's new home!
