Meet Aaliyah, the woman stealing the show from Germany at Euro 2024

Although football is the focus of the 2024 European Championship, there's something that's attracting plenty of eyes off the pitch: Florian Wirtz's girlfriend.

As Gala reports, Wirtz's girlfriend stole a lot of the show at the Germany vs. Scotland match, which the German team won with a glorious victory.

Did Wirtz perhaps score the first goal for Germany in the tenth minute because his sweetheart was watching?

The 21-year-old goalscorer's girlfriend is called Aaliyah Mohamed and, according to Bild, she was sitting next to Wirtz's sister during the Germany vs. Scotland match.

22.5 million people watched the game on ZDF, and the images from the game were shared to an even bigger audience. So it didn't take long for people to notice Wirtz's girlfriend, as Gala reports.

Florian Wirtz is one of the best talents in German football. He was born on May 3, 2003 in Pulheim-Brauweiler and started his pro football career with Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Wirtz, who plays in attacking midfield, has been in Leverkusen's first team since May 2020 and is the club's youngest professional goalscorer.

Since 2021, Wirtz has been playing for the national team's senior team – and is one of the team's best performers at this year's European Championship.

He and his girlfriend Aaliyah have been in a relationship since 2022, according to Gala. In that time, Aaliyah has been spotted in the stands several times cheering Wirtz on at Leverkusen – even linking up with his father on one occasion.

When Leverkusen won the championship title this year, she celebrated together with Florian. Maybe we'll see her do the same thing again if Germany win Euro 2024.
