NFL Free Agency Tracker 2024: Who’s gone where?

The NFL year begins this week, and with the opening of the Legal Tampering Period (free agency in every way bar name) teams across the league wasted no time in adding players they hope will get the over the hump. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest moves so far!

The Eagles, as is often the case, were active in the free agency market, securing the signing of Saquon Barkley from their NFC East rival, the New York Giants. Barkley’s contract puts him near the top of the running back market, paying him $37.75 million over three years, per Adam Schefter.

In a move that possibly signals the end of either Josh Sweat or Hassan Reddick, the Eagles signed Bryce Huff to a three-year, $51.1 million deal. Huff was a rotational piece for the New York Jets in recent years but will take on a much bigger role in Philly. The Eagles also extended Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson on a four-year $84 million contract, per Mike Garafolo.

The Packers continue their quest to be one of the youngest teams in NFL history, moving on from Aaron Jones and signing Jacobs away from the Raiders on a four-year, $48 million contract, per Ian Rapoport.

The Packers made another splash, outbidding the Eagles for the biggest name on the safety market in Xavier McKinney. McKinney chose to move on from the Giants and was rewarded with a four-year deal worth $68 million, per Ian Rapoport.

Kirk Cousins may never be the best QB in football, but there is no one better at getting paid. Despite rumors, he would return to Minnesota, he chose to sign in Atlanta, earning himself a four-year, $180 million contract, including $100 million guaranteed, per Tom Pelissero.

Not the biggest move of the day, but it does signal the Vikings may be looking to find a steady floor in 2024 as they lack elite options at quarterback. Darnold has shown flashes during his NFL career, but he has never settled anywhere.

While the offense may struggle without an elite QB, the Vikings' defense is looking loaded headed into the 2024 season, having signed Jonathan Greenard away from the Texans. The defensive end is going to earn $76 million over his four years with the Vikings, per Ian Rapoport. The Vikings also added Andrew Van Ginkel and Blake Cashman.

The Niners were able to add a veteran pass-rusher on day one of free agency with the signing of Leonard Floyd, who had a great year in 2023 with the Bills. Floyd is set to earn $20 million during his planned two-year stint in the Bay Area, per Ian Rapoport, which looks like a potential steal.

Technically not a free agent signing, but the Panthers had made Burns available on the open market and the Giants swooped in to make a deal. Big Blue will send their 2024 second and fifth-round picks to Carolina in exchange for Burns, who immediately signed a five-year deal worth up to $150 million with $76 million fully guaranteed, per Ian Rapoport.

Garnder Minshew is coming off arguably his best season in the NFL with the Colts and has been able to turn that into a two-year, $25 million deal with the Raiders, per Tom Pelissero.

In a strange move, the Dolphins let star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins walk, despite his importance to their defense last year. Now, Wilkins will be plying his trade in Vegas, where he will be earning $110 million over four years, with a whopping $84.75 million guaranteed, per Ian Rapoport.

The Bengals were able to strengthen their secondary and weaken a division rival with this move as they signed the former Raven to a two-year, $15 million deal, per Ian Rapoport.

In a win-win deal, the Steelers are going to sign Wilson once the league year officially begins at a veteran minimum contract. The affordability of the deal makes it worth a shot, even if there is limited upside at this point in Wilson’s career.

The Jags look happy to let Calvin Ridley walk meaning they need some wide receiver help. Gabe Davis is not an elite player, but he has been consistently productive as a number two option in Buffalo, and at 24 years old, he could blossom into the number one guy. Davis is signing a three-year, $39 million deal, per Ian Rapoport.

Luvu has blossomed into a tackling machine in the past two years and now earns himself a three-year, $36 million deal with the Commanders, per his agent. The Commanders also signed Austin Ekeler.
